[HELP] Script Lag?

Post » Fri Jan 11, 2013 10:32 am

Ok so I've noticed something while I play today. I guess the only way to describe it is "Script Lag". I noticed at first that iHud was acting VERY sluggish in reacting. Whether it be my health or stamina bars popping up or my cross hair failing to come up when I draw my bow and I have to play with it for it to finally appear.

Then I noticd that when out of combat (I use Deadly Combat) I would stagger like Deadly Combat would make me do in combat but I would have been finished for about 15-30 seconds.

Also noticed that some times Footprints doesnt work and the breath effect from Wet and Cold takes a while to start working.

Also when starting the game I get held up on the opening page for about 1-3 minutes before the options come up.

I run GameBooster before playing and make sure nothing major is running int he background. The only real change I've made to my set up is I started to use RadeonPro for a FPS Limiter and a few tweaks.

Any ideas?

Do you have console logging enabled?

If so does turning it off help?

Or when you open it are you seeing stack dumping in the notices ... or endless spam about missing content?

Not that I'm aware of. How would I do that? If it's off I'll run it and see if it's spamming.

See http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1434405-duke-patricks-archery-and-heavy-weapons-combat/page__view__findpost__p__22059007 (the ini changes).

Users of Duke combat mod have reported less script lag when it is turned off, but I don't.

I do find it invaluable for bug finding and making accurate reports.

So if you enable it - things actually might get worse, but worth having a look then turn it off again.

papyrus.log saved next to where save game files are at.

[edit] sorry this is specifically what to set under the [Papyrus] section in the skyrim.ini
bEnableLogging=1
bEnableTrace=1
bLoadDebugInformation=1
bEnableProfiling=0
