i cannot find the last dog tag, i have spent 4 hours trying to find it, i have followed the map markers, and the lower left bar to find it but it leads me between two buildings and there is nothing there, and you cannot get into the buildings. and i got the one from the ghoul in the house. where is it.

i spent 2 hours,ran out of radaway and consoled the quest.

wiki says its bugged.

It's not bugged.
- 9 dogtags are on ghoul troopers near turrets outside of buildings.
- 1 dogtag is on a ghoul sleeping in a white house near the trailer park, you can steal it or negotatiote it from him, better steal before he goes away.

Search better.

I believe you can also convince him to hand over the Dogtag if you help him escape the house by killing the Radscorpions who spawn outside after the dialogue option.

EDIT: Which doesn't help the OP since he said he got that Dogtag. I can't help you besides pointing out that it should be on one of the ghouls inside the area. I've never found a tag on one of the ghoul troopers outside Searchlight itself.

the mapmarker thing on the line on the lower left of the screen guides me between two buildings, it is in one spot but there is nothing there so i guess it is bugged, i have ran all around the place, and even in the caves, and still get nothing but caps from the ghouls. i have all but 1, so im just going to give up. Thanks guys for your help.

I got the quest but could only find 6 tags.

Solution: Come back to the town in about a week and walk through it, some ghouls should attack you and you get the tags.

You mean the Ghouls you probably missed in the first place? Neat.

Is there anyway to see how many tags you've collected?

In the "misc" items section of the pip boy, called "irradiated dog tags" iirc

Most quests have internal counters that can be queried in the console.

Either VMS43QuestScript.DogTagCollected or VMS43QuestScript.DogTagReturned.

But I don't remember what the console command is to check values.

THOSE TAGS ARE IN THE INVENTORY.

There are 9 ghouls named EXACTLY "Ghoul Trooper" outside in Searchlight, find all 9 bodies and you will have 9 tags. There is one named ghoul in a white building near trailer park and this one you have to either steal from or solve his quest to get his tags. Easy as ****ing.

I couldn't find the last one for the longest time, I just overlooked it. You have to search outside the city as well, within the radiation. Search where the turrets are most likely to shoot charging ghouls.
