Well, it seems people finally found out I enjoy RPing a little in TES....

It's getting really annoying now. People just keep taking the piss outa me just because I play a friggin game. Even my 'mates' don't go 5 minutes without calling me an effing loser and nerd. Before everyone found out I was fairly popular but now it seems everyone I talk to just takes the micky. I was even in the football team (soccer) but my PE teacher dropped me. I personally think it was because he heard everyone laughing at me and the rumours. He's the kind of guy who tries to be mates with the students. So even though to you guys it probably seems stupid my school life is almost ruined because I forgot to sign out while playing.

I thought it would blow over in a week or two and thought I should just let everyone laugh it off, but it's been 3 weeks! Wtf it's only a game I like playing!!!!! But anyway I know this isn't a therapy forum but I was wondering what I should do. You guys seem like you could be of some help. Oh and also both my parents work very late so I hardly get to speak to them.

I don't understand. What did they find out? That you like playing Elder Scrolls/RPG's?

What should you do? Stop worrying about it. Don't get defensive when somebody brings it up. Happily admit you play TES. If your braindead classmates aren't getting a rise out of you, they'll give up pretty quickly.

Yep....I know it sounds extremely stupid but they take the piss for stuff like that.

Well, while VERY unfortunate, dont bother with people like that, if they cant respect your love for a certain genre don't bother... At my school, all the boys play games like TES so I dont have any problems (I'm in high school)

Are there no gamers in your school? I don't really understand how playing such a popular game could be perceived as unusual or nerdy.

I feel bad for you, basically every guy at my school is closet nerd. So did they just find the game playing on your laptop or something? Besides, who makes fun of somebody for their gaming preferences anyway? That's just not right.

Well there are....but they play games like call of duty and battlefield. I also like those games but I mostly play TES games. For some odd reason RP games are perceived as nerdy and weird in my school.

If it doesn't look like it will blow over anytime soon, give them something more interesting to talk about.
