See if disabling the pagefile helps !

I have been running without pagefile for as long as i have Win7 and 6 GB RAM - there are some pretty darn pissed people about "how you should keep it enabled - i have no problems at all, pagefle was the source of all lag and performance issues on XP and while on win7 the effect is a lot much lesser (better) it's still making some performance issues and temporary stalls for some games which have memory leaks and bad coding overall (eg Starcraft2 i have full symptoms of a small memory leak i anolyzed and issues with running pagefile no matter how much ram you have)

For those that have 8 GB or more RAM:

-disable pagefile in Control Panel>System>Advanced System Settings>Performance>Settings>Advanced>Virtual Memory>Change ;;; set all drives to zero (both boxes 0) and click button SET , then click OK to close sub-windows. Restart PC to take effect.

When your running without the pagefile you can see via Commit Size , in Task manager performance tab > "Commit (MB) [current] / [max] " > if the "MAX" is the same to your amount of physical memory (RAM) then no pagefile is present.

Test this with and without the optimizations (fixes) and with different drivers and see if it has any effect.

Disabling pagefile has general effect - it WILL speed stuff up becuase it doesn't work like the MS says it does on paper - in practice it's different, and maybe Rage just has a bug with pagefile as welll - who knows , it's drivers definitely but i just wanted to test this as well - i cannot test im EU so no Rage for 5 more days for me.

Somebody that who knows what he's doing for sure should test this so results are valid - i'll be apperciated thank you.

-----------------------------

NOTE: Why RAGE has so much issues with DRIVERs - that's because it's a pure OPENGL game and not DirectX at all - and there is no such complex software in openGL (OGL) that i know besides IDTech5 the engine that Rage runs on - that's why drivers need to be especially fixed and prepared in the OGL component and obviosuly have nothing to do with DirectX component, as DirectX is more popular that's why there is naturally more care for it from the GPU vendors.
