Selling items to broke vendors

Post » Fri May 11, 2012 11:48 am

I'm constantly finding myself going from town to town after a "dungeon" run to find vendors that will have enough gold to pay me for the loot I've received.

Is anyone else having this issue? Have you found a good solution to this? Like a very rich vendor that will buy anything possibly?

Go from city to city after very profitable dungeon raids, or stay in the same city and wait for a few days for their gold to reset.

You can get a merchant to buy anything and have more gold, with the right speech perks.

I end up trading sometimes, like buying some smithing supplies instead of getting pure gold at the end - helps feed my habit :P

Yea the system works more like Morrowind. It is kind of annoying as the cities don't have that many places that will buy *anything* you have (like basic traders/general stores) Morrowind didn't have much of a problem as there were many of those kinds of stores in each city and the amount they could buy from you was pretty high. In Skyrim it's around 700 gold each time. I have to sell all my crap, see if they have anything worth buying myself and then sell more.
It svcks =/

Find a decently priced item on the vendor. Buy it.

Now sell off your crap till the vendor's out of gold.

Find another decently priced item on the vendor. Buy it.

Sell off more crap to the vendor.

Repeat till you're out of crap to sell.

Just like Morrowind. Glad they brought it back. Hated going vendor to vendor to get rid of stuff.

Happened to me in Whiterun sold loot to the general trader. Turns out he bought too much and lost all his money. Bethesda should make it so that the shopkeepers can disagree with what he or she purchases.

I'm hoping Creeper and his wealthy mudcrab friend are in town... haven't found them yet though.
