Sending Courier Messages!?

Post » Wed Aug 14, 2013 2:01 am

I was just playing Skyrim when I got a message from a courier. I think it would be awesome if I could get sent messages and items from other players whilst I'm playing ESO. It would be so cool if I come back into town after an adventure and the courier comes up and hands me all my letters and stuff that were mailed to me!

Does anybody know if this is going to be in ESO? I haven't seen or read about any type of player messaging so far and I really think this would be a really cool immersive feature to see a courier(or a few, depending on how large the city is) running around the cities handing out players their mail. If it isn't something that's been talked about would you all like to see this implemented? :D

I'm sure there will be a mailing system in the game. Doubt it will be a courier system but there will still be one though.

Let's take it to the next level and have player-formed courier guilds while we're at it.

That actually could work, though. Enchant a flimsy iron dagger and name it the message you want to send. Completely pointless, but yeah. Immersion. Woo.

Yeah a mailing system is good enough, although this would be great.

Haha that would be worse than twitter instead of 250 characters for a message, you have like 30-something characters lmao

One time I was about to kill a dragon in the middle of nowhere and he runs up to me as the dragon crashes to the ground right behind him. He gives me the letter and the dragon eats him.

We should have to train our own pigeons from tiny little chicks until they're ready to fly before we can send messages. This should take us till at least L20 or so, because grind makes players want to stay in the game, grind being all challenging and everything. If you send big, heavy things like swords there needs to be a chance that pigeon gets tired and simply drops dead mid-flight, losing your sword forever - just assume a troll took it. Also there is a chance your message just totally disappears because the pigeon got eaten by a giant bat or a harpy or something.

For immersion!

I dunno about that, why train a pigeon when there's already couriers in the game. Like immersion is fantastic but there's limits to where it becomes silly to have things in the game just because it's immersive or realistic, just my opinion though.

Is there some sort of meme or something going on where anything that helps with immersion is just stupid or something? A few responses already have said pretty weird things because they're 'immersive'...
