Serana's marriage proposal option won't come up

Post » Wed Nov 21, 2012 3:54 am

I've finished the dawnguard's main quest and I cured serana of her vampirism, thinking it would give me the dialog option for marriage but it won't come up, whether or not I'm wearing an amulet of mara or not. I know I can't marry her but I just want the option to come up. Anybody know if there's anything I could've done wrong during the questline? I talked to her every time a new option came up. Is there a console command to bring the option up?

may I be the first?

There is no marriage option to date sorry. The closest "hint" you'll get is a reference to sleeping with her when discussing the Elderscroll she slept with for 200 years. And she shots you down haha.

Just leave her alone before you get disappoint, son. Seriously, she hates temples, and you can't get married inside barrows.

To be fair, Serana doesn't just hate temples, she hates everything. When she is in a cave, she wants to be outside. When she is outside, she is complaining about the weather and wants to get inside a cave. She really can't be pleased.

I said it before and I say it again! Who needs the damn gods for marriage? They have a damn altar of Molag Bal in the Volkihar Cathedral! Why not marry there?

because both partners have to consent to marriage. and you are suggesting that happening at an altar of Molag Bal. see the problem?
it might work if you drag her to the altar and force her to marry you (or vice-versa)

lol, marrying Serana should be a ceremony of bashing her over the head with Molag's mace. Quite fitting really.

No. Being both vampires, I am quite sure they have their own little vampiric religion. Maybe a cutscene for the marriage part, but the rest is blacked out because the ceremony is degrading .

"By the name of Molag Bal, I shall dominate my bride."

"In honor of the Prince of Coldharbour, I shall ravage my husband."

=marriage.

See, is that hard? The first vampire ravaged the men before she killed them.

You should be able to go to Coldharbour for the honeymoon.

I disagree because that is more like a honeymoon for Moalg Bal, than anyone else.

That's putting it mildly... She is hot, sixy, beautiful, gorgeous, or any synonym for those words. And from what I hear she has a personality, unlike all the other NPCs.

Well, wasn't that book speaking about the Tsaesci? I noticed a few different things like mentioning Cold Harbour, vampiric blood, etc.

Is that what it's supposed to be? I thought TES:O takes place during the 2nd Era after the last Akaviri Potentate's death. Did Molag Bal attempt to conquer Tamriel more than one time?
