Post » Sun Nov 18, 2012 4:46 am

This might b a dumb question (trolls say something more clever then agreeing) but is serena. Marriagable? I completed the vampire quest, then went warewolf for the achieve, do I have to b a vampire to do so?

When asked about it, you get the most epic friend zone response known to man. She drinks blood, fights monsters, dragons, other vamps, went to the soul cairn, doesn't even flinch at my werewolf form... but she's apparently afraid of chapels...Yet she appears at my wedding...

I don't have Dawnguard because I'm on PS3, but I have seen enough walkthroughs to tell you that if she was able to be married, you will hate her generic dialogue.

After you finish the Dawnguard quests her dialogue slips into pretty generic anyway, not much different from any other NPC maybe a few comments about the weather and the sun's too bright. Besides that marriage in Skyrim is rubbish.

This.

I don't get the generic argument dialogue because it would become generic at some point regardless. If anything, it adds a bit more dialogue lol

Doesn't work. Console commands can not force her to be married, and there are no mods for it.

Only reason I can imagine no mods is it must be a difficult task for her for whatever reasons.

I believe there is now a mod for it, although I haven't trried it myself...my current character is a bit of a 'man about town' type.

She doesn't want to marry, simple as that.

Not possible and I'm a bit surprised but if you look at Serana's backstory then it makes sense.

Making Serana a cliché vampire waifu is obligatory for maximum immershuns.

I think it would have been a nice feature to allow her to marry once cured of vampirism.
If I remember the dialogue she says she doesn't deserve the blessing of marriage because of what she has done and what she is. However being cured would be like a second chance or restart, marriage under this circumstance could work and be kind of a reward to those dawnguard characters who played human. Since being a vamp lord is pretty badass and the dawnguard human path is a bit more dull.

The reason I find her wishes not to marry strange is because her dismissal about marriage is polite yet she is willing to cure herself of vamparism despite the disgusted response she has earlier to the mention of her finding a cure.

By the time that's happened you've actually already formed a relationship with her. The Serana character was more than a simple, mindless bot, she had a fully fleshed out backstory that allowed for an emotional attachment to be formed. I really enjoyed Dawnguard, I actually think the story was a hell of a lot more interesting than the main campaign but I'm baffled as to why the logical extension of marrying Serana wasn't just not included, but that Beth actually went out of their way to prevent.

Not sure that the Bethesda vision of marriage in Skyrim matches most peoples expectations and that you gain anything worthwhile by it
I find it falls rather short in the nuptials department but then I could just be a case of loss of dragonbone.

Do you think there is some kind of a moral code Beth. seems to be sticking to, vampires = evil therefore can't unlive happily ever after, and kids that can't be harmed.

I actually didn't like the story, just too many holes in it for my liking.

You need a PC and ASX spells - more of that kind of thing than you can poke a bone at, It well and trully compensates for Beths. lack luster approach and you don't have to bother getting married.

The marrage system in Skyrim is lame and I don't think they will do anything to change it either, can't see them going to the trouble of extra voice acting now.
