Anyone have a preference? Both seem to do very similar things. I as curious which one you prefer and why?

Actually i'm using what i think is the best combination from both...... as some appear to be more true to the vanilla scheme vs others... between both packs..

So i don't really prefer one over the other...

I haven't tried Serious HD yet but I'm loving how Skyrim HD looks.

Serious HD doesnt seem to look right when you're looking into the distance. Skyrim HD def looks good though, version 1.3 should be out soon too from the looks of it.

I use both. First I load up Skyrim HD 2K then I load Serious HD over it...and overwrite any duplicates from HD 2K. Use NMM to load them.

Serious HD looks incredible up close but far away... something seems off. Currently using the lite version of Skyrim HD. Looks pretty good.

As am I. I wonder why the Nexus didn't work.

@OP: I think Skyrim HD looks better, it's more lore friendly.

Thank you Frozen Affairs.

Addendum: In that wall post the author provides a link to his Skyrim 1.3 lite version via MegaUpload. At the time of my post MegaUpload has been responding with a screen saying that the target to the link is temporarily inaccessible.

However, further down in the wall posts you will find a link to Skryim HD 1.3 FULL.7z downloadable via fileserve.com

Excellent thread. I was wondering the same thing. I do have other related questions if that's cool:

1. I use the mod that does the post process to make everything sharper and more vibrant (forget the name). WIll this interfere?
2. Is this east to uninstall of my performance takes a hit?
3. Is this mod done? As in are all the textures upgraded?
4. Does this impact armors or weapons or just environment? Pretty sure just environment, just curious.

Thanks.

1. Not having that other mod I can't answer.

2. Yes, it is easy to uninstall provided you make the following manual preparation and replacement:
[Step A] Make a backup copy of Skyrim's "Textures" folder before installing the Skyrim HD.
[Step B] To install the Skryim HD simply drop the Skyrim HD Texture folder on top of the game's Data folder. Follow all the Windows prompts to permit you to replace preexisting files with your new ones.
[Step C] Should you wish to "uninstall" the Skryim HD simply delete the entire newly created texture folder that you placed in the Data folder [Step B] and replace it with your saved Texture folder [Step A]

3. I can't speak for the author, other than report that he did write that it has been a time consuming work in progress. You will have to keep checking his Facebook to find out if, and when he will continue on the project.

4. Per the author's Read Me that he packaged with his 1.3 Full:

v1.3

- new Farmhouse textures > affects Dawnstar, Riverwood and many other places
- 4K Barkeeper/Blacksmith Clothes
- redone all the Blacksmith items (2K and 4K Textures)
- new Furniture textures (2K and 4K)
- new 4K Alchemy Workbench
- many other new clutter textures
- adjusted the Full version for better Performance
- some Minor fixes

v1.2

- ALL the Landscape textures have been completely remade
-> also included: 2K Roads, 4K Mountains, 2K Cliffs and some 8K Tree textures
- 4K Water texture
- 2K Rain Ripples
- 4K Stars
- 4K Galaxy
- 2K Sunglare
- 2K Foam texture
- 2K Whiterun textures
- 2K Windhelm textures
- 2K Dungeon ground
- 2K Selling Bar (Global)
