Ok, seriously, what can I even get!?

Post » Wed Dec 08, 2010 2:53 am

As of right now, I am using a fully repaired Gauss Rifle (120 Damage)

And I hit them in the head, sneak critical. And they get hit for half their HP.

What on earth can I possibly use to kill these guys, to get to melissa in the Khan Alliance quest :flamethrower: :flame: :sadvaultboy:

I use the Sniper Rifle, it feels extremely powerful.

I ended up once where all of the deathclaws and blind deathclaws were, and I had no trouble without any companions.

I even had the blacked out scope so I had to no scope, and VATS

The simple answer is keep shooting. :P You could always take chems and use overcharge ammo to boost your damage further and get some supporting fire from a companion but the fact of the matter is deathclaws are not a laughing matter in this game and need to be treated with respect.

Don't know which ones you're fighting. I killed a few along I think the same road you're on with a Sniper rifle. One hit kills were a no go, but three or four shots per did it.

Find the special sniper rifle ( a normal one could do but the special one is naturally better) It basically one hot kills deathclaws if you're hidden ( sneak critical) and it one hit kills raiders in general. No need for criticals. With 96 guns on hard difficulty this is.

Anti-Materiel Rifle + AP ammo + good sneak crit = one dead deathclaw.

At this point in the game (Level 24, 100 guns) I can get a normal critical with the brush rifle and kill a deathclaw in one hit.

Umm do this? :tops:

(If you wanna get killed.... :bolt: )

I had trouble there as well. I basically went up the makeshift Great Khan Camp and there is a giant rock right next to where you emerge.

Jump on that, they cant reach you, and feel free to blow them apart. :gun: :gun: :gun:

(Keep companions on that bottom of hill if you want to succeed!)

Yea, a Deathclaw tactics thread. I rain fireballs on them.

Boone's using the All-American, ED-E has his upgraded laser and I'm on the Incinerator. I get up high on a rock and use the Incinerator as you would a grenade launcher. The grenade launcher itself doesn't have a lot of distance. First I angle the Incinerator way high so it has a good arc and then adjust and fire until there's a hit. Boone always asks "what's your problem" because he's a sniper and knows straight shots so he thinks I'm firing at nothing and wasting ammo. I have lots of flamer fuel and this weakens them and often does them in from a great distance. If they run out, Boone and ED-E get them.

From a distance, use the .50 cal with Inc. rounds. 1 hit. BOOM dead.

Since your having a hard time killing em. Here's a strategy tip!

Set landmines around you so when you run and they chase... BANG their shiat is crippled. Then start throwing semtex to their foreheads... and if all else fails. Call in the pavelow and a care package and just pray to whoever you pray to that you get a nuclear warhead so you can lvl up and unlock the AK47 with red dots/silencer with the bling perk!

1. Use the Fat Man
2. Use the Missile Launcher (High Explosive Missiles if possible)
3. Anti Materiel Rifle (Match Hand Load Ammo if possible)
4. Laser RCW (Overcharged if possible)
5. Gatling Laser or Plasma Caster
6. Ballistic Fist (Not a good idea to get up close unless you put on 5 Med-Xs and 5 Psychos. Beware Addiction!)

The listed guns are better if fully repaired.

Wrong game dude :fallout:

@ice625
The laser RCW is nearly useless. I fired 60 shots into ones head and barely did any damage.

As far as i can tell, it is good to have some skill points invested in your sneaking, then, you should probably have 100 in guns and a good amount of strength, i use the sniper rifle with a suppressor attached, so by the time they detect me, i already landed 3-5 sneak criticals on their heads. the anti-materiel rifle is also good, but it has an awful lot of recoil, so be sure to have a good range. basically, as long as you kill them before they get to you, you are good, and that is done with long range weapons.
i am pretty sure that if your weapon is suppressed, nobody else would attack you if you alerted one of them. give them the worst of the russian reversal. instead of them surprising you, you surprise them.
