Settlement in glowing sea?

Post » Fri Jan 15, 2016 12:48 am

Not too sure if there's a place to build a settlement down by the glowing sea. I'm actually just getting ready to go down there. So is there a safe house down there where I can store loot and whatnot? I'd really prefer a place to setup a power armor workspace to be honest.

I've been looking online and not a lot of people have talked about this. I got the idea from a great gamer from IGN, (video called fallout 5 game discussion or something where they talk about their hopes for FO5, what they're doing in FO4, favorite companions, etc.) All he said was he had a base down there.

So and ideas would help, thank you!:)

There is a single settlement just on the outskirts of the Glowing Sea. Don't know of any workbenches inside the area itself or safe containers.

Map (don't open if you don't want name spoilers etc.)

Aye it is. Not mine tho. I have another version that shows the placement of bobbleheads / magazines / holotapes or other items of interest (unique weapons etc.)

Nice indeed. And the map is four "squares" wider and taller in the Sea. Interesting.

No settlement in Glowing Sea.

It would have been ripe for a Vault but alas no.

Some locations could be used as player housing as they have inside areas so you dont get irradiated.

There is one location thinking about it that would be perfect, you'd have to kick out (kill) the current resident mind but depending on your allegiance that may not be an issue (-;

Virgil's Cave is comfy enough, or Sommerville Place for a real settlement, or Vault 95.

I just set up a PA workbench in the nearest settlement (Sommerville Place?) and created a lead-lined Power Armour just for The Glowing Sea.

I took along a companion that is not affected by radiation, but I'm fairly sure it doesn't matter, I just thought someone like Cait in a leather waistcoat would look odd in all that radiation.

I think that Sentinal place would be a cool settlement, pity it wasn't utilised in this way.

Unless its some kind of abandoned Vault where an air-filtration system can be repaired/re-activated it kinda makes sense that no settlement is in the area.

Would have been nice though, especially if every resident showing up is a Ghoul.

Without spoiling too much. There are one or two places that fit that criteria. Altho, foraging would be really difficult if not impossible unless you have access to heavy duty hazmat suits :D Then there is the wildlife....not sure it is a place I want to be staying, there are much better alternatives. However, they would make great places for some sneaky undercover things ;)

There isn't settlement. My guess is he kill someone and just use their base.

Did not realise this. Might have to revisit the glowing sea and take a look at where these potentially viable locations might be.

There's an old church you could shack up in (Forgotten Church). Drop through the roof.

Yes, ghouls however would be nice for an setlement down there. And yes it would be stupid with other settlers came. You would like an area behind an load door for yourself and obviously power armor

Liked the idea of an specialized armor at settlement.

Awesome! Thanks everyone! It doesn't have to be too close. It just takes forever to fast travel in game time (my characters addicted to mentats and jet so I feel like it's a waste every time I fast travel too far) but I'll check out Somerville place! very nice map by the way! And as long as the main quest isn't ruined, I'm good. I haven't put as much time in playing as everyone else due to work, so I'm pretty excited for how everything turns out.!
