Settlements - vertibird pad?

Post » Wed Mar 30, 2016 11:43 pm

I am trying to build a vertibird pad in my settlement, but when I call one in with a smoke grenade right in the centre of the pad the bird always veers off and lands next to it on the ground. I have seen people on Youtube build helipads that work, and they seem about the same size. Any ideas why this will not?

Yes the problem is obvious if you look better at the image. The vertibird is not a smoking/flaming wreck to cover the entire landing pad properly.

I was actually expecting this to be a request for a vertibird pad in the WW dlc.
It would be cool to have a vertibird in our settlement just parked and ready to be used. :D

Sick idea haha, a vertbird pad that allows us to customize the one we can call lol. But end game obvs :D

It may still by trying to land there but because of the type of floor it looks like its just "in the way" instead of a floor/landing spot.

I don't have mods but the concrete floor one would prob allot it to land on it, if you have a modded floor like that....

Could also be too close to the building, does it land normally close to it if there are no constructs?

I don't think the a.I. would let it land like that anyways.

An end game reward of customizing our own vertibird would be amazingly fun. Plus, option to call in the vertibird for attack (instead of pick-up) would be amazing as well. Actually, that second option won't be too hard to implement. Possibly, just talk to Preston or Maxson and ask them to notify their pilot that when you call, do an attack/pick-up instead of the other.

That would be sweet. Your own customizable Vertibird. An option as well to just go out on patrol and not have a designated destination.

If I can put armor on my verti so it doesn't go up then straight down, I'm all for this.

I thought vertibirds would swoop in and minigun the crap out of anything near me... You can imagine my disappointment when it just landed and watched as I took on a horde of super mutants, by the time I was done it had buggered off. I haven't called one since.

I don't think you should HAVE to buddy up to the BoS for a Vertibird. You're pretty much the baddest MF in the whole wasteland. You could just steal one.

Maxson can crawl up his own backside and die.

The Minuteman gets a Vertibird after winning against the Brotherhood of Steel actually.

How about the Railroad? And the Minutemen deserve nothing. The SS saves the Commonwealth. They may as well make you an Emperor and give you the Vertibird as your own personal vehicle.

Vertibird pads at settlements would be a great addition.

Although they should only work if you've joined the BoS. Or are at the end game for Minutemen and RR. This would ease the fears of everyone worried about the no fast travel in survival overhaul. Would be just like the carriages in skyrim.

This would also fit in with faction specific settlement building pieces.

There are a couple spots in Sanctuary that make ideal pads once the ruined houses are cleared off, but I can really understand the desire to have one to install somewhere else as well. Or just a flat floor in any settlement, period.

If there's a concrete floor foundation piece, I haven't found it yet.
