Severe FPS drops upon entering VATS with AA enabled.

I'm using a 27 inch iMac with an overclocked mobility 4850, so its actual performance is akin to the desktop 4850.

Running the game at 2560x1440 resolution and all graphics set to ultra and no AA yields me an inconsistent 20-60fps. Having same settings with 4xAA enabled gives me the same FPS numbers and no severe drops until I enter VATS. Once entering VATS my fps drops to about 1 frame every 10 seconds.

Now when running at 1920x1080 with all highest graphics and 4xAA I can enter VATS without problems, so at first I thought it might've been a memory bandwidth issue. However keeping the resolution up all the way while setting graphics down to high or medium and keeping 4XAA still gives me the same VATS fps drop. I'm inclined to think it's a specific graphic mechanic that only happens during the sudden movement when entering VATS that's causing for the problem. Could be an issue with the game not being optimized or GPU drivers, however I'm not sure.

For now I'll continue to play with 2560x1440 and all highest graphics with no AA.

Running ATI's 10.10 mobility catalyst drivers on windows 7 64bit. Forcing AA through CCC instead of using the game's AA yields same results.

Just thought I'd let the Bethesda guys know.
