If Shadowmere died...?

Post » Wed May 30, 2012 1:38 pm

Um, so I was running along with Shadowmere when a dragon breathed on us. Somehow the damn horse just shot into the sky and disappeared into the horizon. Will anything bad happen if I just leave it like that? I don't really want to reload a previous save...

It's difficult to say, Shadowmere is reportedly supposed to respawn 10 - 20 game days at the point where she was killed. However flinging up into the sky and disappearing you can't be sure she wont glitch in some way. Perhaps do a separate save then take note of where you are and go away and wait somewhere. Then return or fast travel somewhere and see if she is back. If she doesn't reappear maybe you will have to reload.

its not like you need shadowmere, you can just buy another horse shadowmere just looks cool. Doesnt matter if you dont buy horses anyway seeing as they are pointless.

Shadowmere does come back to life, i think in a week or somthing like that, and she can respawn either where she died OR at the Fetid pond just outside the DB sanctuary, (old one near Falkreath not Dawnstar), and yeah theres nothing bad that can happen apart from loosing a badass horse :).

Losing Shadowmere is only bad if you rely on him as a dragon-fighting aggro tank...

I love that horse. lol

How the hell did you get Shadowmere killed? She's invincible. Taken down at least 10-15 dragons using her as a meatshield.

I turned shadowmere into a sweet roll and ate her... Now I realy hope she won't respawn in 20 game days where she died cause that will be hard to pass...

Loving Shadowmere. He/She has a ton of HP, regens it fast and dragons just love trying to take a bite. I tried casting some of my highest level destruction spells on it... and it didn't even make a dent. The only way I was really able to kill Shadowmere myself was to do a dagger sneak attack with DB gloves for a 30x damage attack....that'll kill pretty much anything. (On a side note... I love sneaking up and assassinating Dragons that are at stationary spawns.)

I sneak attacked Shadowmere with a 30x bonus and it survived with a tiny sliver of health. It's health bar shot up super fast, Its regen is insane.

If shadowmere is dead -

open console, use cursor to click on horse, type resurrect

problem solved. I love that horse and can't be bothered to wait for the respawn rate if I accidently kill her with an arrow.

I used that horse to level archery, one-handed, two-handed and destruction on. It has yet to die on me yet. She is also pretty darn good at taking on dragons while I poke them with my daggers.

I personally wouldn't risk not seeing Shadowmere again and reload a save, that is just me though.

"it is okay if shadowmere dies. because all things die. and they don't come back. unless they come back as ghosts. but then you can't ride her. but I digress. Shadowmere is dead forever. like all the people you killed"

I accidentally have killed her like 5 times by accident. sneak arrow with 300 damage x 3 equals dead horsie.

reload is annoying but I do it. sigh.
