Shallow water

Is it just me or TES water is becoming shallower and shallower in every installment?

Not sure how this is a mod, but...

I think it has something to do with removing all ability to actually do anything in the water. Water is now rather annoying and dangerous. I actually wonder why they didn't throw water-walking back in, since that would have given us the chance to fight back against the slaughterfish.

I meant the deepness of the water. When I saw the dark waters of Skyrim and jump into it I was amazed how low it was. With CK, maybe I will push the terrain lower if possible.

Yeah, some of the winding ravines with rivers I expected to be a lot deeper than they are.

Go into the ocean, its deep, and some of the lakes are too.

Im actually pretty impressed with the water: I was heading to riften for the first time following the river from Riverwood, it turned into a huge water fall so I tried to cross when the current actually swept me down it. I loved that for some reason. Then I killed a guy in the river and the current dragged his body up on some rocks downstream as I watched some of my arrows float away.

They have alot of bugs but the things that work right are awesome imo.

I too am annoyed by this. I was expecting much deeper water when I went exploring in the sea off Skyrim's north coast.

I'm pretty annoyed that you can't fight underwater. That is a bad carryover from Fallout.

So far, water depth seems about the same as Oblivion to me. I haven't been swum in every lake yet, though. I have to say, I am impressed that Bethesda actually put a few things to do underwater this time (shipwrecks, sunken containers, ect). But why they would put enemies underwater and not let us defend ourselves from those enemies is beyond me.

I nearly drowned the first time I attempted to cross a river. I was stupid enough to try it while over-encumbered because the bridge would have taken forever to walk to. I was definitely not expecting a current to drag me away from shore and into a section with riverbanks too steep to climb as I tried in vain to swim to safety. Got pulled under a rock ledge and couldn't escape without dumping my loot. I loved every moment of it, never felt that desperate over something so seemingly trivial.

I have noticed that swimming is bugged in deeper pools. Sometimes I'll randomly drop like a stone to the bottom mid-swim, other's I'd hit apparent underwater air pockets. My character would take gulps of air as if he'd surfaced on the ocean floor with no water breathing enchantments.

Right, considering how arcady TES has become I'm surprise how they miss a golden opportunity for action down there. I feel sorry for those who play an Argonian.

The first thing I did when I stepped on my first bridge was jump over out of habit... it was lonely funeral :(
So, if someone makes them rivers deeper and ship-friendly, navigable even, some of us would be very grateful.
