SHARPE Craftsmanship: Materials
Is your MISC crafting category overflowing with items that really belong somewhere else? This mod will help! By painstakingly assigning correct materials to virtually every item in the vanilla game, items now appear in their correct categories in the crafting menu, provided a recipe is available to construct them (new recipes are NOT included).
The following new crafting categories are provided:
CLOTH (for clothing, replaces STUDDED - the Studded Cuirass is now in the HIDE category)
SILVER (for silver weaponry, silverware)
GOLD (for gold coins and certain Thieves Guild items)
GEMSTONE (for gems, soul gems, crystals)
IVORY (for anything made out of Mammoth tusks, Horker tusks and Sabre Cat teeth)
CHITIN (for anything made out of Chaurus Chitin or Mudcrab Chitin, such as Falmer arms and armor)
PAPER (for books, notes, maps, etc.)
In addition, this mod serves as a modders resource in that it establishes new categories that mods can use. Simply make sure that this mod is installed and make your items go into the correct category by attaching Keywords to them (and, if necessary) creating Constructible Object recipes for them. Here's a list of the Keywords to use:
CLOTH: ArmorClothing (don't use ArmorMaterialStudded anymore)
SILVER: WeapMaterialSilver
GOLD: SHRPCraftingMaterialGold
GEMSTONE: SHRPCraftingMaterialGem
IVORY: SHRPCraftingMaterialIvory
CHITIN: SHRPCraftingMaterialChitin
PAPER: SHRPCraftingMaterialPaper

Yes, you're reading it right: custom crafting categories are now possible! I've figured out how to use this facility that was most likely introduced with Skyrim 1.7. However, because it requires a bit of configuration in a few dark corners of the CK, I guess it has gone unnoticed till now.
There are in fact 10 custom categories that can be configured using the CK. The Dawnguard DLC uses one of these slots for certain quest-related items,

but the rest of the categories are available for use. I've looked at what kind of items are available in vanilla Skyrim and Dawnguard and based the categories in this mod on that.Aetherium
I've reconfigured the vanilla STUDDED category, because there's only item that uses it: the Studded Cuiras. I've set it's description to CLOTH and configured it to use the ArmorClothing keyword, so all existing clothing should go into that category (yay! finally haute-couture mods are possible!

The other categories I've introduced do use up 6 of the custom slots and use custom keywords. I'm hoping other mods will use my mod as a base (it doesn't do anything other than define the categories and assign the appropriate keywords to the vanilla items. No scripting, no new recipes), so it should work well as a modders resource.
I'm working on a Dawnguard-specific add-on to this mod that assigns correct materials to the items introduced in the DLC.
