[RELZ] Shezrie's Hearthfire Kitchen

Post » Sat Oct 27, 2012 1:05 am

This mod puts a complete kitchen in that little misc room behind the Main Hall, in Hearthfire's Lakeview home only. So now, instead of using up the East Wing for a kitchen, you are free to use it as a Library or Armory and still have a working kitchen.

The kitchen actually sits more naturally in that little back room, rather then the non descript odd little room that you usually get there, that has no discernable purpose. I actually built this for myself a while back and have enjoyed using it as the flow of the house is better and more usable imho, so it is tailored to my personal preferences.

***You must have the Hearthfire DLC to run this mod********

=======
Features
=======

*There is an oven, for baking. I did not put a cooking spit in because there is one just on the other side of the wall in Main Hall.

*There is a butter churn.

*There is named storage for all food types. Crates for food, barrels, jars, pots, all for specific ingrediants that you will need in your cooking and baking. I specifically left these all empty, because you need to gather your own ingrediants and fill up your own kitchen.

================
How To Use this Mod
================

Very simple...

*When you build your Lakeview house and add the Main Hall, the kitchen will be there in the back room.

*Do not use the crafting table in this little back room to create furniture.

*When you have finished furnishing your Main Hall, except for this already done little back room, just remove the workbenches as usual.

*This mod will not work on an already furnished back room. You will just get a mess of furniture in there.

Well well well. Now if only this was available at Heljarchen Hall :tongue:

It is in my own game. :biggrin: But I added so much extra personal stuff that I am having to rebuild these kitchens from scratch as separate mods for public release.

Great. Exactly what I was hoping someone would do. I had to have a library at Lakeview so sadly I couldn't have a kitchen. Now I can.

Now, unfortunately, i've already furnished that silly little room, and don't have an early enough save game to revert to. Is my only way forward to remove all my important belongings form Lakeview, uninstall Heartfire, play, save, reinstall Heartfire plus this mod then rebuild from scratch?

I am pretty sure that is, unfortunately. You could try disabling the furniture already there with the console, I did it to get rid of a cupboard and it seemed fine, it might have deleted other things it was parented to though. But that would be a big job.

Neat. Too late for my current game, but tracking the file for the next new character I play. Thanks!

This is really cool. I'm looking forward to seeing what you do with Solstheim and the Dragonborn expansion. :thumbsup:

So if you want this and already have a backroom full of stuff... go on a disablin' spree with the console. :smile:

You may need to do some GetParentRef checks on some things, and then use prid to switch over.

0: Don't active Shezrie's Hearthfire Kitchen just yet.

1: Click on furniture you want to get rid of in the console.

2: Enter the command "disable". If you accidentally take out a wall, just enter "enable" to bring it back.

3: If it doesn't disappear, then it's linked to an enable parent, and enable/disable won't work on it directly. With it still clicked, enter the command "getparentref".

4: Enter "prid (Parent Ref's HexID)", where (Parent Ref's HexID) is... well... exactly what it says on the tin. The 8-digit hexID that "getparentref" spat out. "prid" is shorthand for "PickReferenceID", which allows for using the console to select an object for console manipulation.

5: Disable that. If it doesn't, then the enable state for the furniture is set to be opposite of the enable parent, in which case try "enable". If it still doesn't, then the enable parent has an enable parent of its own. Repeat 3 thru 5.

6: Repeat step 2, and 3-5 if necessary until the affected room is clear of stuff.

7: Once all clear, enable Shezrie's mod here.
