Shield bash is awesome!

Post » Tue Jun 12, 2012 10:22 pm

I almost always use a shield and shield bash enemies. But now i was making some food in a pot outside of river wood and I made a veggie soup and it have me unlimited shield bashing for like 10 minutes. It was so amazing. I went through a cave and only shield bashed people to death. They couldn't even touch me other than a Mage.

Agreed, it's a fantastic little mechanic. Saved my neck more than once! :)

I would imagine you need to ramp up your stamina a fair bit for a shield warrior to be practical. Sounds like something I'll have to try.

if you're trying to be powerful you are wrong.

shield bash gives you no power. only gameplay.

You'd probably want to do this anyway, if you're a heavy armor warrior, just to have a higher carry weight to carry all the armor you'll end up coming across, and if you're into smithing, all the materials you'll need, along with everything else you have.

Do you even read what you type? Preventing your enemies from attacking IS power. Power over your enemies. Keeping a dragon from attacking because of your bashes is powerful also.

it is indeed a handy little mechanic and really usefull when you get deadly bash and power bash. all i can say is it better be in the next game as it is to useful to be left out.

Staggering an enemy when they are in the middle of a power attack is powerful, much more powerful than just trying to block there power attack.

I disagree, Disarm is really good. You can disarm any armed enemy, where as the Disarm Shout has a cap of around 30.

my favorite part is when some a-hole charges you only to get his face bashed in. Also the neck crush finisher is one of my favorites

i find powerbashing quiet useless, because shield bashing itself is already so incredibly good.

the shield gives you the chance to play the game easily without ever touching smithing, enchanting or alchemy.

in the moment i am playing a conjurer in heavy armor + shield.

I like powerbash. I like the way it drops an enemy to one knee for a moment allowing me to get in a free swing on them. I absolutely love it on mages. Running up on a mage and bashing them into submission and then knocking their head off with my mace is one of my favorite pleasures in Skyrim. My warrior really hates mages.

a normal shieldbash gives you the chance to do 2 swordswings till the enemy is ready to attack again

shieldbash - 2 hits - shieldbash - 2 hits

every enemy, no matter who, dies without really touching you. i would even call it "overpowered". it's not of course, since you don't have to play this way.

Shield charge is really fun to use too. In one dwemer ruin (forgot name) there was a long line of baddies running towards me across a narrow bridge. CHARGE! about 7 baddies fall to their deaths in 1 second.

Using a shield is what made me love playing my warrior. I'm always a mage but gave warrior a try so I could explore the perk trees for it. Hacking and slashing isn't my favorite thing but I loved bashing with my shield and each perk I took made it more fun. As a mage, I don't need Stamina but I sure needed it for my warrior. I'll be doing that build again mostly because of the Block skill and using a shield. :tes:

You must probably be a two-hand lover? i say that because you'r post shows you'r blatant lack of knowledge regarding it lol

I bet if the AI bashed your chars face 80% of the time and can't do crap you'd find a totally different opinion regarding it.

Shield bash rocks. But skip the veggie soup/beef stew. It may be fun for a bit, but it makes the game too easy. Stun locking someone with it gets boring. Like using impact with 100% fortify enchantments.

Exactly if anything else Shield bash is absurdly OP, Shield bashing a Draugr Deathlord in master difficulty is very entertaining lol
