Dear everyone,

i have been enjoying skyrim for a few days now and i have a problem.
For about 20 levels or so i have been using shield charge very effectively.
However now suddenly the skill stopped working, i can sprint with the shield up and hit something but there is no knockdown.
The only exception i have been able to find is when i alt-tab out of the game and alt-tab back in, then i can shield charge once, however after that it stops working again.

Its a very strange bug, i hope someone knows how to fix this.

Am i the only person with this problem? I would seriously appreciate any help you guys can give me since this is a gamebreaker for me.

Same thing has started happening to me

Logged in today to show my friends this perk that I've been using for the past 30 levels and it no longer works

I just run right past the mobs as if I was sprinting.. This has severely gimped my character

I tried going back to an old save, restarting the game, system, everything I could think of

Just wont work .. and I'm on ps3 btw

Does your character have a disease? (Check your spell menu under "Active Effects." Diseases are in red).

Just checked mine, no diseases on me.

same i have been werewolf since gameday 10 so no diseases at all.
The strangest thing is that when you alt tab out of the game and then back in you can use the skill once, but only once.

Hmm i just saw you are on the ps3 burial, i was exploring hardware issues on the PC but it seems its inherent to the game then not a pc problem.

So i have been scouting the forums for anyone with similar issues. So far i have not found much.
Is anyone experiencing a similar problem but maybe with a different skill?

Out of frustration I decided to hit up Whiterun and slaughter the entire town. By the time I hit the companions guild my shield charge was working again. I quickly loaded a previous save and it wasnt working, until I killed a few mobs again and now it works. I'm sure it wont work when I go to play seriously tonight after work

Its definitely bugged.

Turns out it randomly does work sometimes, however when it does the knockdown isnt just when the shield is up but whenever i bump into someone.
This will then last for about 2 minutes and i can go around bumping people everywhere even if i am not wielding my shield or my sword.

Then as suddenly as it starts its gone again and i am unable to use the shield charge.
Most of all the seeming randomness of this is driving me nuts.

Yup I just experienced the randomness you're talking about, I just came home after work and charge wasnt working, so I decided to kill guards in whiterun again.

I tried to get it to work and after awhile I just set the controller down when suddenly guards just started flying off my character as if I was charging them.

Jup that's the bug.
Really is a gamebreaker, totally nerfs your character.

I haven't seen a single response on this forum from bethesda staff though. Unfortunately i think its time to drop this game untill it gets patched

It's been a few days, i have noticed other people having the same problem on other forums. Wich tells me its bigger then i thought it was.
Anyone else havin problems with shield charge?

I seem to have found a fix for this.
Remove your perks and skill using the console, then readd the perk and skill manually.

Shield charge works for me again now

Yup, me.

W-T-F ? I can understand quest-bugs and other crap but a damn bugged SKILL ? I practically wasted 1 perk point (which is precious as [censored] when you are on 57 lvl) cuuz it doesn't work at all.

Instead of fixing uber-important skyrim steam exe. file you should focus on much more important issues Bugthesda.
