Do you see the trend in games lately? Dead Space, a space horror game now leading towards being more action orientated. Resident Evil has pretty much become an action shooter game. Dragon Age turns from old-school RPG to action button-smashing RPG. These three games abandoned their roots of being what they were good at, and their ratings drop with each release.

Ratings in metacritic:
DS1: critic score - 89, user score - 8.7
DS2: critic score - 90, user score - 8.5
DS3: critic score - 79, user score - 5.4

RE4: critic score - 96, user score - 8.9
RE5: critic score - 84, user score - 7.7
RE6: critic score - 74, user score - 5.0

DAO: critic score - 91, user score - 8.4
DA2: critic score - 82, user score - 4.2
