well in that case every round would have to be played two times, once team A are aliens, once team B are aliens. cause the only alternative is the way halo does it, with identical hitboxes. That wouldn't work in Crysis as the aliens we've seen so far were either much smaller or much taller than the player. The elites used to be of rather similar proportions to Master Chief so it wasn't a big stretch making them the exact same size for MP. either way, balancing won't work, people would always feel betrayed by the game, even if it's objectively fair.

Good point. I think it would be very fun to be able to play as the aliens (especially so I can jump from building to building :P)

Possible for versus team play, like L4D. Aliens versus the nanosuits 2.

Indeed, you couldn't have them in a straight fight arena (team deathmatch ect.) but some form of assault objective based game would be fine (aliens always on defence, or attack. meaning those biching can't when they still lose as aliens).

Actually, the aliens in Halo have different hitboxes.
In Halo3 it's generally looked down upon by more competitive players to use them because they're very difficult to headshot from behind. "Dino's" or "Dino-F**s" seem to be some of the more common things shouted by raging try-hards, and the kids who repeat everything they hear.

Moving on -
Halo: Reach has an Invasion mode where teams alternate between aliens/humans every round, with each team having advantages/disadvantages, and it works fine.
And most of the kids moved on to Black Ops which is an unrelated plus.

Deeply true yet". A nanosuit versus aliens, would still be a fair match.

I mentioned having aliens in online mode before, but the balancing would be very difficult.

No, because it would almost certainly be either unbalanced or broken.

Is this in any way dooable?

I mean could it be realistic to consider some kind of conquest type game with one round as aliens next as Nano team, sounds like a complete rewrite of the opposing team.

pretty usual to have two teams using similiar weps and vehicles, but the Aliens have a whole other arsenal, so i dont really know.

I do know one thing, i for one would love the chance to play the game as an Alien also, this would be great fun to play the game from the other point of veiw so to speak, good idea if it can be done, all for it :-)

One semi-related question: is Crytek going to add zombies to the game (like all other major games these days)?
or will it keep it original with only aliens.

I ask because most major titles have recently introduced aliens (e.g. Call of Duty, Red Dead Redemption etc)

I agree with Guss about playing the campaign as aliens...but I believe that would be too much work for the team (it's like having two campaigns)...but can it possibly be introduced as a DLC?

Have any of you played AvP3? If not, then I can tell you this, the predator is always a top race to play, making it so unbalanced. So I don't believe playing an Alien in MP would do the MP any justice.

Besides, this game is all about the Nanosuit, not aliens.

@Guss600
I mentioned the exact same thing in a thread not too long ago. Some minds think alike, :

Here's the line:
Wait, what about half-alien civilian hordes vs you in a nanosuit. It would be one helluva a ride.

Weird, that was the plot was already used in a game from 2005.

Playing as aliens gave me an idea, Cytek should make a state of the art Crysis RTS, you could play as the aliens, cell, koreans, the US, and whoever else they want to add.

IMO, FPS is where Crysis excels and RTS would just kill the series...
