Should Bethesda Softworks license REDengine 3 from

Post » Thu Dec 12, 2013 12:53 pm

Just out of curiosity does any one think Bethesda Softworks should license CD Projekt RED's REDengine 3 video game engine for open world RPG video games? Possibly Bethesda Game Studios.

CD Projekt RED will start licensing REDengine 3 in 2016.

I mean The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt VGX 2013 video is so good looking.

CD Projekt RED said they will keep updating the REDengine 3. CD Projekt RED is targeting CGI graphics for Cyberpunk 2077 which will be released in 2015 possibly.

Considering CDPR and The Witcher 3 are about to dethrone Beth, it's really the only option they have.

Yeah Bethesda Softworks needs to make a decision quickly.

I mean Unreal Engine 4 looks like it can do open world RPG video games good but still to be seen.

CryEngine can do it most certainly and it does look good.

idTech 5 wasn't it mentioned it's not for open world video games?

But REDengine 3 looks so visually amazing.

Bethesda Softworks still got a lot of work to do to bring me back as a customer.

However I would be fine if they went with CryEngine, Unreal Engine 4 or whatever else video game engine.

No. They have id under the same roof, they should collaborate and make a great engine for open world.

Do you really think people only play one game? I'll play the Witcher 2 and I'll also play Skyrim when i feel like it. When there are games in the same genre, it doesn't mean they are necessarily competing in the way you might think. Gamers have time for more than one game.

So you know, if Bethesda announced Fallout 4 right now, most people would switch their hype to that instead of The Witcher 3. Although most would end up getting both at some point anyway.

Already praising an engine that hasn't proved anything in open world? lol. Let's first see Witcher playing on our machines, so far we have 1-2 second real gameplay action. I don't care which engine they use, it will certainly be other than Creation (Gamebryo). They've said they use it for 1 more game, so that'll be Fallout. Next TES, next engine.
