PS3 is more powerful than the 360, so crysis 2 should look better on it

If you don't mind paying over 100$ on extras to get the parts for a half functional system, get the 360 'slim', otherwise you can get a playstation 3.

get a ps3 if you are low on money, they are starting to have less of a price difference, and now that microsoft is increasing prices of xbox live the free multiplayer network they provide will be great for your wallet.

2-3 years ago i would've straight up suggested the 360 but the PS3 is proving a stronger platform every day. I own a 360 and my flatmate owns a PS3, so we've got both and i'd suggest you look at the pros/cons of each system and decide which one suits you more.

I still think the 360 has a far greater range of games to play and it has far more exclusive titles whilst also sporting better online (although paid-for) functionality but the PS3 has other benefits like built-in Wifi, internet browser and BluRay. The PS3 is a more all-in-one system, whilst the 360 caters more towards greater gaming, imo.

That is up to you, I would do some research on the consoles. I own a 360 and a PS3 but I mostly play on the 360 because I find the online services better and I prefer the 360 pad more then the PS3.

I'd say ps3 to, although the online system is better for the 360 it would cost to much for me to bother with it :P

The systems are basically identical in OVER ALL specs - basically its up to what games you want to play... However, if you want to have a basically free blu-ray player, you might as well want the PS3... also the free multiplayer.... etc.

In tests the PS3 and Xbox 360 have looked the same when it comes to graphics.

The PS3 has only seen to have an edge in PS3 exclusive games. (Which Crysis 2 is not.)

Then again... The Crytek team will probably take the extra time to support the extra power the PS3 has in their code.

PC. If you can buy a console then you can upgrade your pc. As for consoles, I would normally play fps's on a 360 since its controller is the best but PS3 have many great exclusives in addition to free PSN. If you can live with a svcky controller then PS3 it is.

I'd go with a new PC and build it yourself, you'll need to buy another pc at some point anyway, plus with the savings on games you'll save a fortune in the long run.

If you hate tech and the mere idea of even thinking about learning about computers chills you to the core, then for the love of god get a ps3. After GoW the xbox 360 is doomed to be the PC's little retarded red headed stepchild, with no exclusives of it's own and being inferior in all ways to the ps3.

Crysis 2 will be the best looking game on all platforms (Cryteks promise)... so i bet there will only be small differences between the two console versions.
Like i said in many treads before.. Ps3 has the stronger CPU but a weaker GPU than the 360. A few users think that xbox will have larger draw distance but ps3 better textures or something.. i also think that the pros and cons of the two versions will neutralize themselfs.
In the past the ps3 versions of multiplatformgames always looked weaker than the xbox versions. ( because of the complex hardwarestructure etc. it has already been discussed before)

When it comes to customer friendlyness ( i hope the term is right)
Sony is slightly ahead with free internet and mp service,
You can charge your controller with a usb cable..etc.
And do not forget the blue ray player. ;-)
But in the early past they cutted the ps3s abilitys via bios updates.
The Ps2 emulation no longer works on the old ps3s and theres no linux support anymore..

But despite all that ..Microsoft is a real bich in comparison.
You have to pay for litarally everything!
You need to buy a play and charge kit to charge your controller.
You need to buy a membership for xboxlive etc...

So i think a ps3 is worth the extra money in my opinion.
Unless you wait 3-4 more months and buy a Gamer Pc for 800 Eur. ;-)

halo is finished now boulder :) who honestly thinks a yearly update halo job will be worth a damn? It's a sorry state of affairs. When the guys who make a series go 'right, we're done' you don't carry it on!

Also you can get a decent gaming pc for £400 if you build it :D and you can get a pc on par with a console for £300 with no problems. You can also get something on par with an xbox by taking a toaster, two hairpins and a lemon and assembling them together with a hdmi port.

The money you are going to spend on a PS3 or a 360 and an HD TV (if you don't have it already) is enough to upgrade your PC to run this game with high settings.

when i saw this question asked I thought to myself "ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh why did he have to ask!" because whenever this question is asked people have a huge fight over the better console but on this forum people seem to be mature enough not to do that, amazing! I myself would strongly recommend you buy the PS3 because it is a far superior system in graphics and gameplay to the Xbox360, but that is merely my opinion, If you do end up getting a PS3 however, you should add me on ur PSN, my name is the same as this account's name

Buy it on PS3, I know there is another 6 months or so before the game is released, but I played it on the 360 today and it had some serious frame rate issues, at a few points it was barely playable. This will probably be fixed within the next few months, but from what ive seen so far, Xbox is a no go.
