So.. should i download to HDD or what?

Post » Mon May 07, 2012 11:33 pm

There are threads saying that people SHOULDNT because it causes low-res textures, but there are people saying that we SHOULD because there is now a patch for it? Either way, forget textures, will there be any other differences other than disk-running sounds that tips the scales either way?

Pete says it's not dowloading to the hard drive that does that so I would go for it.

the patch that was released already didn't fix it. I suggest you don't until it is resolved.

you will get longer loading times but I would think thats a good trade vs missing textures in general.

@first two.

that is wrong dead wrong, I can prove otherwise sadly can't until 11.11.11 which may have a patch that fixes it. His job is sell with a large bug like such he isn't going to say it exist

I'm going to install it. I'm more than comfortable waiting until the day I get home with the game and start playing with some friends to see if all the stories are true. At this point most of threads on the issue aren't helpful but just people arguing and complaining.

I dunno, the tweet from Pete is cool but not definitive if you ask me. He may not even know exactly what is being talked about, I'd be surprised if that is the case, but still.

Also, there is a current thread for this topic here

Do you mean... install? Skyrim will not be available for download on 360 for possibly several years. :facepalm:

It sounds like Pete probably isn't aware of the current issue.

Regardless of the issue, HDD is better off overall for your 360.

Might as well just install it. If it's bad then uninstall... Not a complicated concept :celebration:

I don't get the deal with this thing. Its a problem that will be fixed soon enough. Until the, just run it from the disk! You don't HAVE to install it right away. Play from the disk and check in on the forum or somewhere to check when the patch for it is released or if everyone has the problem. The xbox can easily handle running from disk for a few days ;) Xbox is the lead platform in terms of marketing this game so bethesda will be quick to fix problems, if even just to keep sales up ;)

Not a big deal to me but if you're concerned, don't install right away and run from disc, as others have said, then wait for a patch. I'll be installing though from day 1. I prefer the game running quietly over "alleged" better textures when running from DVD. Maybe others Xboxes don't make a very loud noise when spinning the disc, but mine does, so I'll be installing right away.
