Should i lower my difficulty - if i refuse to use followers?

I hate Bethesda's followers, companions, sidekicks, and hirelings

Cant stand them, am i going to be hamstrung in combat because of this psychological hatred of their very existence?

Should i lower combat difficulty down 1 notch for this or is it balanced without the insanely frustrating sidekicks?

You should lower your difficulty the instant you stop having fun because it's too hard...

Unless you are in a situation you can not run away from, if you do the main quest this might happen, then you should turn it down one. Not two.

There was one spot where I knew I did not stand a chance but I had to defeat this guy for a quest, and there was no running away cause the door was locked until you kill him. I turned it down for that.

This as well. High difficulty is probably the lowest priority on my "things I like about TES games" list. I do own Dark Souls. Probably wont play it much anymore.

I would lower it one notch. If the game seems to easy then raise it back up.
