Should I Play on Master or Expert Difficulty?

Post » Fri Jul 20, 2012 8:11 am

Hello guys & girls I am going to be starting a new playthough and was thinking playing on ethir expert or master difficulty since adept is way to easy imo. I was trying on on master difficulty for a few mintues and I did find it hard if I wasn't paying attention first round i did pretty good in the turtrail dugeon didn't go onwards yet, second try after deleteing the first one because I don't know why i did just being stupid anyways on my second try i got pwnt and 1 shotted by that old dude in dungeon that uses lighting. So again i delete this test character etc.

I know playing on master is more challening and fun but since I've played and beat the game on adept even if i kinda cheating my way after 41, should i try and play the game on master? I read topics about people finding it way to hard or way to easy etc and can't make up my mind if i want to play on master or try out on expert first.

I heard on expert the game is still challing but not has bad as master and is fun as well, were master is more challing and realistic.

P'S I'm going to be playing as an assassin maybe no armor or heavy armor or light, not sure yet.

You can probably judge for yourself based on the modifiers.

Difficulty | Damage Dealt | Damage Taken
-----------------------------------------
Novice | x2 | x0.5
Apprentice | x1.5 | x0.75
Adept | x1 | x1
Expert | x0.75 | x1.5
Master | x0.5 | x2

If it seems like taking twice the damage and dealing 1/2 damage from what you experienced on adept will be too much, try expert first. Of course you have to consider any change in play style and build as well, if you were high HP and high armor with your old character but low HP and low armor on your new character, you'll of course see an even more extreme change when it comes to damage taken. Some skills are affected more by difficulty too, another thing to consider. A conjurer or illusionist really doesn't lose any effectiveness offensively when turning up the difficulty.

I find even Master a breeze, so I would recommend Master for any semblance of challenge.

Of course, if Master is beating your ass, Expert is good.

Thanks for this reply, I guess I should had mention on an old playthough I did a test with a dragon were u can jump on its back and one shot it, whileing I was on adept I dind't one shot it but took most of its hp, i re-loeded the safe tried on master dind't do much, re-loded again and put it on apprentice and I killed it 1 shot since I was assassin.

I was also thinking playing on apprentice just for the hell of it knowing it be easy etc, as an assassin u stragy is to take out you target/oe quickly as possible.

Yep, it's just a little slower than you would level on Master.

Well I seem to level pretty good on adept, so would it be faster on expert then adept?

Anytime you hit more often you are going to level your weapon up more often, period.
