[REQ] Shout shortcut key

Post » Wed May 16, 2012 1:06 am

Would it be possible to make it so that using a single key i could change between my available shouts? Like with a little notification would show that which shout i have equipped? It's tiresome to put all of them in my favorites menu and scroll around everytime...

Are you really that lazy? It seems you need to prioritize your favorites better.

I have bow > dagger > 3 shouts > potions

All you really need unless you're a mage which at that point I can semi-understand but truly, you only use shouts so often that it seems highly unnecessary to do this.

I have 3 swords there (2 primary, 1 soultrapper), 1 bow, 3 potion types, 4 spells and at least 6 shouts.
Different people = different gameplay, get over it. If a mod like this would exist then i wouldn't need to keep my shouts in my favorites menu and it would be easier to scroll through.

You either play on the console or just can't seem how badly optimized the UI is for the PC.

I play on PC thanks. I hit Q, and his S a couple times to get my shout then tab it up to my weapons before I exit. Takes a whole 4 seconds. Get over it.

3 clicks which stops the game, instead of a single button that could be used on the run.
I wonder why people like you bother reacting to my thread... you surely didn't understand it.

If you have nothing constructive to say or can't say it a nice way, then stay out of the thread.

I don't mind the way hotkeys currently work. This could work for shouts too (or anything else) if they simply enhanced it to have shift+(1-8) in additional to the 1-8 key bindings available to assign in the favorites menu.

Indeed that could work, but sadly it's not like that yet...

How about a small HUD that shows the currently selected shout and the next and previous choices, where you could scroll favorited shouts using the arrow keys, or the number pad or something? <- and -> would scroll through the favorites and pressing "up" or 8 would select that shout? The main problem that I see with the realtime switching (which I enjoy the idea of) is locating a place on the keyboard/mouse where you could scroll through quickly without moving your hands. (and not everybody has mice with more than the standard left/right/scroll or keyboards with number pads, etc)

What i though would be the best is a single button that if you press it would show which Shout you just choose, so this way you would only need one button to "scroll" between all your shouts/or the specific ones that you use.

Or maybe 2 buttons, so you could scroll either way between them... V and B could probably work.
