Post » Wed Jul 25, 2012 10:24 pm

Im using timestop shout and i sometimes use firebreath and stormcall and i was wondering what are some of the best shouts in the game to use....i used to use disarm but everyone said it was a waste of a dragon soul.
so whats some really good shouts and if you could maybe a small paragraph on what makes it so good.

1. Considering you acquire more dragon souls than shouts, nothing is a waste of a dragon soul.

The shouts I use a lot

Ice form: This is a great shout, especially if you can get everyone in a line right in front of you. If you can get everyone in a choke point, like, lets say a door, you pretty much have frozen everyone and can kill half the enemies before they get up. It is also useful for dealing with bosses so you can kill his guards and then deal with him

Call of Valor: Very useful for a mage, because he acts essentially as a tank, soaking up all the damage while you recharge or attack from a far. Also good for warriors dealing with a mod of enemies

Agent of Strife: Great in a pitch because you regain 100 health for each enemy you hit, which can save you if you are about to die

Dragonrend: Essential for melee warriors when fighting dragons

Become ethereal: Great for if you are running away from someone (infinite stamina helps too), This saved my ass when running from Ancient dragons, if you want to jump off a tall building, (bards leap, anyone), or avoid those annoying Dwemer traps.

Anyway, I find people tend to lean toward certain shouts more than others, pick whatever you find fun or useful.

Disarm, a waste? Hardly.

It's useless against bosses, but the regular grunts, which you face far more often than the bosses themselves, it works just fine on. I use it just as often as Unrelenting Force.

Is there a website where you can read all about the shouts and varying power level?
If so a link would be appreciated?

Like timestop level slows down time and seems like it affects me as well as the monster.

You can use the UESP: http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Shouts

Or use The Elder Scrolls Wiki: http://elderscrolls.wikia.com/wiki/Dragon_Shouts

I prefer UESP, because it has a link to all previous Elder Scroll games

Yeah, I usually use Elder Scrolls wiki for Skyrim, and when I mean Skyrim I mean gameplay purposes only. What I like about the Elder Scrolls wiki is that they have the sounds for the shouts which is a nice little detail. But overall, I prefer UESP.
