so do i just take a follower and kill them or do i need a resurected dead body ?

or bring a follower kill them then resurect the corpse?

can it be any follower like the one dunmer guy in riverwood who will train you in archery or does it have to be some one like lydia ?

what if i had a quest that gave me an essential tagged follower ?

You need to bring a follower to the shrine and instruct them to touch it.
I dont think you can use essential followers.
You can always just hire a merc from a tavern.

An essential follower cannot be sacrificed.

I don't know about resurrected corpses, but the gist of this quest is to bring any non-essential follower and sacrifice them at the shrine, don;t worry about what to do next, Boethiah will tell you.

And the elf in Riverwood is Faendal. He's a Bosmer, not Dunmer.

I dont think you can use a thrall, as you cant direct them to interact with things like you can a follower.

should i be ready for an exploding corpse once the follower touches the shrine ?
