Shrouded Boots + any heavy armor question

Post » Mon Jan 28, 2013 2:04 am

Right now I have on the Shrouded Boots, Nahkriin, Blade Armor (Fine), Shrouded Gloves, Necklace of the Major Knight and Ring of Minor Health. Now, the Shrouded Boots says that you move silently, but I can hear my character's footsteps, and not the clinking of armor (is that normal?). Is there any way around this because I hate using Light Armor (no training at all with it, except to level 20, didn't upgrade anything)

You need the Sneak perk.

The enchantment adds the muffle effect. basically, it means that enemies have a hard time hearing your character's footsteps.

It has no audio effect. You'll still hear your character walk.

Yes. If the muffle enchantment or spell is in effect, however, NPCs will not hear it as much.

How do I make that stop? I really want to be a heavy armored sneak, so If I don't kill the guy right away I'll at least have the protection

Again; your ENEMIES won't be able to hear your armor with the MUFFLE effect.

It doesn't matter if YOU hear it.

the steed stone sets your armor weight to 0 which is essentially as good as 100% muffle, so you wouldn't need muffled boots.
shrouded boots are actually only 50% muffle, so they're pretty bad.

if you disenchant a muffle item and enchant your own muffle item, any muffle item you enchant yourself has 100% muffle.
which is better than what you get from shrouded boots.

muffled movement on the sneak tree is also equal to 50% muffle, although I'm not sure how it stacks with shrouded boots.
