Sieve patterns in the snow and jagged shadows since patch 1.

I was away for awhile and not available when patch 1.07 came out. Now it seems I am having problems with the game. I was Winterhold and noticed that the snow resembled a sieve patter and shadows are jagged.

From the beginning when Skyrim first came out with their texture pack it was widely understood to un-check them. Is that still the norm today? Also, I have been experiencing some lag in certain places on Skyrim’s map—Ripten for example. At the very beginning there was a fix regarding the game utilizing 4GBs of RAM with AMD processors, is that still recommended? I have a AMD Quad Core processor and 4GBs RAM.

I would sincerely welcome a response as I love Skyrim and would like to continue to play it. Thank you in advance.

And Skyrim is already enabled to use more ram, so the "fix" isnt necessary.
