*sigh* Dawnguard...

Post » Fri Nov 16, 2012 12:03 am

Based on a release video, apparently there will be a "Face Sculptor" in Dawnguard's Ragged Flagon supposedly for players who want to change their character's looks after the character creation screen.

Why was this not in the original product? Why do we have to pay $20 for this simple feature now?

Why was Skyrim even released? Even after update 1.6 it's an unforgivably unfinished game.

We get SPEARS? Yaaaaaay... I'd rather stop LAGGING.

Don't get me wrong, new items, weapons, spells, shouts, perks, quests, locations, followers, and greater benefits to being a werewolf and vampire are GREATLY appreciated.

But only if the rest of the game's STITCHES WEREN'T SHOWING!

Followers still get lost or trapped,
Briarhearts are still overpowered as hell,
AI is still [censored],
Sheathing weapons while running still doesn't increase your speed,
Changing your control scheme still breaks follower commands,
Still no running jump,
Still can't harm children (but we can now EAT people in 4 different ways),
Still can't kill Thonor Silverblood, Maven Blackbriar, or Delphine, the three biggest [censored]s in the game,
The Kill Paarthurnax quest is still broken,
NPCs say the same thing OVER and OVER...

Inventory items still get LOCKED IN,
Important dialog options still get LOCKED OUT,
At the worst times, attacks and shouts still LOCK UP,
And unbelievable lag from loading BUSHES will still cause the game to LOCK DOWN.

I would never do this, NEVER. I would NEVER release a game in such a crippled condition, chase it with 6 updates that should have been on the disc I bought in the first place, and then shovel out $20 worth of DLC for a game that still CRASHES at least twice a day.

This offends me as a GAMER, and as a GAME DESIGNER.

And you know what the worst part of all this is, Bethesda? I LIKE your game.

But it TORMENTS me. I LOVE the environments! I LOVE the freedom! I LOVE the stories! I LOVE the battles! WHEN THEY WORK!

If your game just svckED I wouldn't give a damn, but instead it's turning me into a [censored] masochist, and I feel like I'm just running headlong into a brick wall repeatedly making these threads and barely seeing any DIFFERENCE!

I've heard time and time again that "We at Bethesda want to make Skyrim BETTER, not BIGGER."

*Bethesda releases Dawnguard DLC*

...

*throws hands in the air* ...I'm done.

Alright, I clearly give the community here way too much damn credit.

Let me elaborate on two things:

1.) THE PURCHASE OR QUALITY OF THIS DLC IS IRRELEVANT TO THE THREAD.
You people are [censored] morons if you can't tell the difference between "BOOHOO, Dawnguard doesn't have X features I wanted, why'd they make this?" and "What the hell, Bethesda, why are you releasing DLC already when the game still needs patching?"

2.) UNANIMITY IS NOT ACCURACY.
To suggest otherwise is a fallacy. Screw you, oHORIZONSo. Screw you.

Also, I'm going to start collecting usernames for my blacklist.

Woah man.... Breathe.

I knew threads like this would start to be abundant.
Everyone is so quick to complain.

Just wait until people start playing dawnguard.
I know so many will gripe and groan about it and have complaints up to wazoo and even more will be mad they don't have it yet.

Um okay. Then don't buy it, one person not buying the DLC won't matter to them.

Wow, nice job. I guess there's no point to this thread anymore, you totally just solved everything.

He did. The only one not content with the solution is you, for you seek something illogical and impossible.

Seems like I did since people are starting to agree with me. They can't fix every single thing. Patches cost money, its bad enough that they had problems getting this DLC working on 3 platforms (succeeded in one of them but the other 2 are still pretty buggy). So really, just cause you don't like the fact that they aren't fixing the major bugs in the vanilla Skyrim then oh well. Don't buy it, this is Dawnguard, their focusing on the bugs for Dawnguard.

You would solve a lot for yourself If you stop filling up a forum with your QQ.
Don't like the game? SELL IT! (like the reverse of when you bought it) nobody will miss you and Bethesda is the last one to care for all your tears.
Grow up or gtfo.

Well you clearly are complaining more on the whole game itself than the DLC 'Dawnguard'. I bet you haven't even played it and yet you posted this thread in the 'Dawnguard General Discussion'. So yeah, why is this thread even still open?

No. There isn't.

And no werebears either.

And this guy who started the thread doesn't understand that nobody wants to hear it. Whether its complaining or not, still sounds like it when you read it.

Well, whoop-de-doo for you. I'm jealous of the people on PC and those of you who haven't run into any serious problems. Nonetheless, these problems do exist, and should be fixed.

You don't give up? We know they EXIST. But there is only so much they can do. They do a good job for how big and detailed the games are give them a break.

Why don't you become a game designer and try and work for them one day? Feel their pain and push yourself to make a difference instead of demanding problems to be fixed as if it were as simple as pressing a button.
