Silver Lining? : V

In the UESP, it http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Silver_Lining I need to finish five jobs from Vex or Delvin for this quest to become available. I think I've done six of Delvin's jobs and three of Vex's jobs, and I still haven't gotten anything of it.

Is there a bug involved with it coming available?

u have to do 5 missions total from either vex and/or delvin in a certain city. Like to get the one for whiterun, u have to do 5 different quests that takes u to whiterun to do the deed.

Argh, well that's annoying. The quests send me all over the place, I'd probably have to do 40+ before it finally gives me such a quest.

Yeah, tis a little irritating that you can't select a specific city each job, or in the case of the Bedlam and Sweep jobs, do any of the major cities.

Took me about 27 jobs before I'd done five in each city.

people always cry about guilds quests being short, well, thieves guild is anything but short

The five jobs is either wrong or doesn't work as intended, as I did seven in Riften and still didn't get the "special" one.

It might be five different jobs or something like that.

Well I just did save scumming and got at least five, probably six jobs in Windhelm from the two side-job givers and got the Summerset Shadows quest from Delvin.

After 5 jobs you get a special mission to take over the city.
Riften is already owned by the thieves guild, hence no special mission.

You just need to refuse the jobs that dont take you to the right city. Keep asking and rejecting new jobs until you get the ones you need. Derp. :biggrin:

There is no special job for Riften. As for the other ones, you can keep canceling jobs for cities you don't need until you get five of each. It didn't take me too long when I did it.

reload lots until they give you the right city or use the console to start the special mission.

Have to becareful with this as a few people over in the bugs forum have reported after doing this with Vex they could no longer get jobs from her.

Not just the city. ANYWHERE in a specific hold.
