Simple fix for "Waking Nightmare" Quest.

For anyone who's been to Dawnstar, you've probably heard about the nightmares everyone around town has been having. Talk to a guy named 'Erandur' in the Inn there, and you'll then start the Quest "Waking Nightmare" which is simply another Daedric Shrine quest, Vaermina this time (one of my personal favorites) :)

Well the problem arises when Erandur tells you to follow him... he doesn't move... you can't follow him cause he literally just stands there.

Well after some desperate attempts to get him to start walking, it worked! :o

I just started pushing him, sprinting into him, and finally got him to move away from the bar. He then left the Inn and are now able to finish the quest.

For anyone having that issue with that quest, there you go. ;)

Nice tip, but I think the bigger issue people are having with this quest (including myself) is not being able to proceed into Nightcaller Temple.

The bug seems to be triggered when Erandur enters the temple before the player. It causes Erandur to spawn waaaay deep into the temple, and the player cannot get to him because he never used the passwall spell on the stone you need to pass through.

If the player is unlucky enough to be playing on the xbox 360 (like myself) then the quest is officially broken. There is no passwall spell in the game, and such feats are only accomplished using the command console so easily available to PC players.

So thanks for the big screw on that one Beth! Still no fix after three patches.

Np, just make sure you enter the temple before him. I had no issue with this quest on my first playthrough, because I had entered first. Second playthrough I was not so lucky, because I had no idea this was an issue. I entered and exited multiple times to see if he would randomly pop into the correct spot. But he didn't, and all of my saves were cursed with this bug.

Its a shame that such a great quest is plagued by such an obvious bug, even after 3 patches...

as for your bugged saves... delete them....reboot 360...clear system cache then load an earlier save.
