Simple Respawn mod wanted?

Post » Tue May 15, 2012 3:00 pm

Update
I have uploaded this small mod to my 4shared account. Please look at my sig to go to where it is in case the nexus goes down or whatever. :)

I was wondering if a simple respawn mod would be wanted at this point in time. I've looked through Skyrim and have found the entries for how long it takes a cell to respawn. With this knowledge I would be able to change the time it takes for cells to respawn. Please let me know if anyone would be interested.

Edit: Tinkered with it and it respawns zones and items (items not intentional).

Can be found http://www.skyrimnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=89.

Is it possible to change what spawns, where and how many?
Since i love fighting bandints, draugrs, skeletons and the likes. Would love for more of them around the world.

Is it possible at this point?

@sage3

Around 250+ days or so. About 30 days for a cleared area and 10 days for an uncleared area.

@Topeira

I am not sure that is even possible until Skyrim's CS comes out. What I changed were small entries that reset cells. As far as I know Tessnip cannot do this yet. Some entries are not readable with the version I have.

Sorry.

No sweat, brother. Im not expecting anything till CK comes out.
Was worth asking, though :)

I admire those who already manage to do some modding. Way to go.

Someone else put up a mod with an esp, so I decided to look into things with TESsnip and I was able to put this small mod together. No promises that it will be able to be fixed though. I have no idea how all the items are tied together for respawn/whatnot. If I cannot manage to fix this maybe someone else can, if not then this mod stands "as is".

If anyone wants a longer or shorter respawn time please let me know and I can add it up to the nexus.

Could you please make a mod that there is no respawn at all anymore or at least with a very long (maximum) respawn time?

Would be great! Thanks!

The default time is over 200+ days or so, with that in mind I don't think a mod is necessary. Totally eliminating respawn is difficult at the moment without the Skyrim CS. When it is out it may be possible but no guarantees.

About 30 days for a cleared area and 10 days for an uncleared area.

Is that respawn time for Dungeons or for all Cells?

I went to an area I'd cleared and the external cell had respawned but inside it was still empty.

It was for both. Strange, everywhere I have previously killed mobs they have returned.

Sorry for the confusion but for a cleared dungeon or whatnot it is a 30 day respawn (tagged as cleared). Untagged dungeons are only a 10 day respawn.

How can you tell what is tagged versus untagged?

When you clear out a dungeon/whatever it will be marked as tagged "Cleared".

Yeah my experience with that is funky.

Like I cleared a fort out and got that tag - but I did it unrelated to a quest that required that.

Later I got the quest, but the tag was still there. Going there the bandits were there again.

A cleared dungeon will respawn after 30 days if you didn't use my mod.

Quite possible the quest reset the dungeon.

One other respawn question is it 10 days total or 10 days without visit?

I'm not sure about that. I believe like Oblivion it doesn't matter if you visit between the respawn times. If you do nothing happens until the 10 days are up. I made a short respawn mod to test this myself and when I went outside
of one cave the bandits were back. I don't think stuff will respawn in the same place you are, like if you were inside a cave and bandits spawn while you sleep kind of thing. :)

In Oblivion visiting an area restarted the respawn timer at least for outdoor areas. Had an mod with an farm and the crops almost never grew back as I frequently visited.
I prefer the new system, also like that quests can do respawn. This probably make it possible to control it either disable respawn for an dungeon you use as base or let an mine restock more often.

Possibly, however until I get to muck around in the CS I won't really know. Hopefully it will be like all of the other past Bethesda games and have regions of what respawns ect...... Only then can a better respawn mod be made.

On an interesting note, last night I was mucking around again to see what else I could find and I found a reference to the player able to wear power armor. I guess that might be a secret easter egg not even Skyrim goers should know. :fallout:
