Since vampires can't change their faces...

Is it possible to cure and contract vampirism regularly? That is, can a vampire cure himself, change his face, and then become a vampire again? If so, how many times can one do this, just once or infinitely? Also, if we cure and then contract vampirism again, can we become vampire lords still? Do we lose perk progress?

I'm on PS3, and I want to know because I have a great character who's already a vampire, but I want to change his face. I also want to approach Harkon and the Volkihar as a vampire myself. What should I do? Cure it before Dawnguard, change it when the DLC comes out, and then contract it again? Am I better off re-rolling and making a more attractive character?

You can catch and cure vampirism numerous times. Still its too tedious IMO to do just so I can change my appearance. I was looking forward to that :yuck: .

No point in being a vampire when confronting them

SPOILER....
They look down on every other vampire that isn't a 'Lord'. Theyre some dialogue about the, from Harkon and Serana both saying negative things.

If we do so to change our appearance, will we be contracting normal vampirism or that fancy, ancient-blood vampirism that comes with the VL form (but is otherwise essentially the same)? And if we do become vampire lords again, do we lose our perk progress?

For that matter, can it only be done after a certain period within the Dawnguard storyline?

I still want to do it. :vaultboy:

Don't know sorry. I just know that you can catch and cure vampirism an unlimited amount of times. I think you get the ancient-blood vampirism from Harkon or Serana.

How about after finishing while sided with the vampires? Is it possible to cure yourself during the questline, and are there repercussions for doing so?

Well, I hope someone does. :(

Hopefully I'll find out within the month that DG takes to come to other platforms, but the real problem is just that: I don't want to spend a month on a character if I'm just better off re-rolling him.

Step 1: Cure Vampire Lord
Step 2: Go to face changer
Step 3: Go to Serana and become a Vampire Lord again

Is this problematic during either side of the DG MQ, or can it be done sans consequences?

I'm sure you want to be a vamp when you go to Harkon for your own RP reasons but just so you know, he doesn't acknowledge you as being a vampire at all (the daughter does, once, briefly at an earlier stage) in fact Harkon's dialogue makes it seem as if you are not a vampire when you meet him and he makes his offer.

To be honest a lot of peeps playing as vampires already will be a bit irritated by the whole prologue of Dawnguard, particularly how you actually start the mainquest.
There are dialogue justifications for most of it though... "a vampire could just walk in the front door."

Luckily Harkon seems to care as much about the piles of his people I slaughtered as he does about me already being a vampire.

My advice... cure the disease you have now... it's hardly fit to be called vampirism anyway, then go make yourself pretty at the face changer, then go and become the real deal.
