Single Player meets PvP: Assassins Creed

aftrer seeing the trailer i am just voicing a concern that some other recently released multiplayer games ignored.

dark brother hood / assasins creed style gameplay is fun. The alliance trailer shows you plan to include this and thats great.

But it's not very fun to be the victim of such a predator. traditionally this didn't matter because NPCs dont have feelings, but as the game opens to PvP... you have to tell that part of your player base no, not here. This isnt a 'have your cake and eat it too' issue. they cannot have cake. if you try walking the road of 'a 1 shot from stealth is balanced because' ... thats all your pvp will be.

i know the team handling this has experience with making the infiltrator class and these things might not need saying but other companies have ruined such hopeful thoughts for me.

edit: also a specific to consider, gw2 has a culling delay when one comes out of stealth/invisibility. fixed in small pvp matches but still present on megaservers. dunno how hard it would be to avoid this.

i site ac in title rather than dark brotherhood because it's a more widely recognized tittle, though probably not on this forum! 'twas a poor choice for the primary anology i concede, but the point remains.

as to the video... different strokes for different folks, realism is an elusive goal for video games so lets not getbogged down on it too much. But id say the video reached out to that crowd. look every one of those heroes 1 shot everything they encountered, the 1 shot comment was about the gameplay i forsee not the video. I just saw a really highly anticipated title take a big hit because it pandered a little too heavily to that crowd in pvp, i hope it doesnt happen here.

No one said you'd be oneshotting anyone, it's just a trailer it has a bit of realism in it - aka person gets stabbed with a sword = person dies.
