Sinking a well

Post » Mon Nov 19, 2012 6:04 am

Sorry for the noob question, i am trying to sink a well using a shaft kitpiece in a interior space. When i use the kitpiece, it simply sinks into the ground and instead of a open well the existing floor shows through. Is there are way of overriding the floor section where the well is located so its more like an open shaft ?

Sadly I do not think there is. You would need to raise the well high enough so that the "fade to darkness" part of the well is above the floor line. Or if doing that looks ridiculous I would get rid of the floor section and use some clever placement of objects (rocks most-likely) to cover up the missing floor area around the well. This is one of those moments when you'll need to improvise.

Thankyou
Not the answer i wanted as i had plans for a open ended shaft so you could look up it from inside ruins and down from an another interior so will just have to scrap it and start again

Thanks again

I feel like I've seen something like that before...though it could have been in another game... Keep looking around in the object window you might find something that could work for you.

I think the shaft kit for Nordic has pieces that include a floor and a ceiling, maybe you could do something with those?
