sixy Dibella robes?

Post » Sun May 20, 2012 12:53 am

I normally scoff at "sixy clothing" mods. My typical reaction is something along the lines of, "Seriously, guys? Grow up. Eighth grade was a long time ago."

But every time I see the priestesses of Dibella, I feel like they really should be wearing something sixier. Isn't their whole faith based on religious reverence for feminine beauty and sensuality? It makes little sense, lore-wise, that they'd be hiding their own feminine beauty underneath baggy, head-to-toe robes. Seeing them in their burka-like garb almost ruins immersion for me.

So if there's a mod out there that puts Dibella priestesses in sixy outfits more befitting of their religious convictions, I'd download it in a second. A retex of Nocturnal's gown might work well. But I haven't been able to find one. Anyone know of one?

(I'd consider making my own, but I lack both the design talent and the technical know-how to do so.)

In Tes 2 Daggerfall the Temple Of Dibella had scantily clad dancers along with topless disciples. The Temple Of Dibella also from what i could tell was all about worshipping beauty both female and male since there were also muscular males barely dressed in a provacative manner in the same temples at the same time.

Pretty magnificent how mature on so many levels Tes 2 Daggerfall was back in the day.

You can easily switch what those priestesses wear using the npc editor

or you can switch the model used for by the monks in skyedit.. it's called ClothesMonkRobesHooded. but that will change it for all priestesses

As an interesting side node, back then the european versions were censored to have only Barbie-style nudity.

Huh, so what happened to all the sixy men in the temple between Daggerfall and Skyrim? They don't seem to banned from joining, when my male character asked to join the priestess seemed quite receptive - "Well you are pleasing to look at" and "I could teach you a thing or two about pleasure" - but alas, they were not accepting new recruits at the time.

No they were not. Perhaps that was the case for some countries, but my copy of Daggerfall was not censored in any way.

I'm pretty sure she meant students for six class instead of actual priests. The temple seems to revere female beauty only, and men are forbidden from entering the inner sanctum because they have cooties.

There ARE mods on Nexus which switch the meshes for Dibella priestesses so they wear Nocturnal robes, which are much, MUCH sixier. Search for Nocturnal...

six class? Is that an actual thing that the priests of Dibella did in previous games or is mentioned in the lore or something? I think you just made that up. :stare:

I believe it says in one of the loading screens that one of the disciplines of the Dibella cult is sixual instruction, although I may be thinking of a different game. It's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the dialogue option "Where do I sign up?" and the response... especially "We're not taking new students."

edit: According to UESP (no sources mentioned), Dibella has over a dozen different cults devoted to her, some of which focus on erotic instruction. I guess it's entirely possible that the Markarth branch isn't one of them.

edit²: From the book http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Varieties_of_Faith..., as seen in Morrowind. Odd, I never played Morrowind...

From UESP:
Popular goddess of the Eight Divines (and Nine Divines). In Cyrodiil, she has nearly a dozen different cults; some are devoted to women, some to artists and aesthetics, and others to erotic instruction.

"Erotic instruction" See, it wasn't made up by "Thingy Person"
