Skill Points + Console Commands = ?

Post » Tue Mar 29, 2011 11:04 pm

Thought I'd come back here, seeing as I got a ton of help yesterday.

Anyhow, my problem today is that I want to take away some Skill Points (20, to be exact) from Survival (I'm playing on VHard/hardcoe and I think it's completely useless, I've not had to use it more than 3 times, this, of course, is my personal experience with it) and add them to Lockpick, I know there is a Console Command (PC Master Race reporting in) but I have no idea what the Console Command to take points away from a Skill is.

Also, I'm not sure if it would create any problems, but my Survival is a Tag Skill, I assume it's still fine to take points away from it without anything going loopy, but I just thought I'd mention that, just in case.

setav skill number

Above would set the skill at the number you want.

But unless you have 100 in Survival, and want to lower it, I don't see putting 20 more points in them is a waste......

Ah, thanks, and I personally feel that it is a waste, I don't use it at all really, the times I did use it was to cook Dog Meat.

You can use forceav if you just take your current value x subtract 20 x-20=y
then input
player.forceav y
and it automatically forces the skill to your liking.

Yes.. forever. If you use for example

player.forceav lockpick 75

.. your lockpick will be 75 for the rest of the game unless you use forceav to change it again. Forceav FORCES the value to that amount and disregards any changes to it (such as level ups, skill points, etc). You shouldnt use forceav over modav.

I didn't know that would make it permanent, I guess the Vault wasn't very explicit.
Disregard my other post.
