Im currently lvl 22 and im playing a Nord Warrior (keeping with the theme of skyrim) And i currently have a Skyforge steel sword equipt, I have sharpened the blade 3 times now, and its at 80 damage, i have yet to come across a sword that comes close to this damage. I have tried Dwarven, Elven, Orcish and Glass and sharpened them to the max i can with my current smithing level, Surly this cant be the best none enchanted sword in the game???

It isn't. Ebony+ is better.

It's a quite viable weapon though it's not the best.

Skyforge Steel is around the same level as Elven in terms of base damage, but count as Steel in how easy it is smith.
So Glass should be stronger base level, but might be harder to smith to the same level.
