The movie looks pretty cool, and I can see a vague similarity of the aliens in the trailers to the aliens in crysis. The tentacles and that huge walker thingy kinda resemble the hunter, and the motherships kinda resemble crysis' mothership. Oh, and they "borrowed" a sound from transformers in the first trailer at somewhere around 0:58. Oh, and Some of the flying things look like scouts from crysis.

Isn't that a bit risky, a lawsuit versus a film company?

Why would Crytek lawsuit them? Instead, I would think it would help with free advertisemant towards this franchise since the movie and the game seem so similar.

It may lead to legal action, stealing a monumental idea like that?

I doubt it, their lawyers would eat up Crytek for breakfast.

Just like other companies steal COD ideas for their games, movies steal ideas from other media. Its all part of business. :)

Remember Crytek has gov't contracts so I think crytek is just as powerful. Otherwise ea would be funding lawyers and ea has more money than the movie guys ;)

Well a license or permission would technically not be required since the aliens do look noticeably different from the Crysis aliens, although similar, I bet their is enough to set them apart in a legal case.

In addition to that, the story line has nothing to do with Nanosuits and kidnapped scientists. :)

I guess there is a very slight resemblance... But Crysis 2, of course, will have better graphics :P

You know,

I made a post a few weeks back, when i saw the first trailor, suggesting the same campare, but then i got a very negative feedback to that post, lol.

well now more stuff is being released, and yes as then i still agree, some things are so alike, even the colours like the blue in crysis, and Red in Warhead.

I go with too many similiar features.

Guss.

I very much doubt that we would be suing anyone, let alone a film company making a Sci-Fi film about aliens attacking the world. To say that it has already been done (the concept) would be an understatement. Of course, there will be similarities but thats as far as this one goes. From what I know, this isn't anything to do with Crysis 2 or Crytek, but it does look and feel similar to the Crysis experience.

In short, the film looks pretty awesome - any additional exposure Crysis 2 gets because of it can only be a good thing.

Go and watch it, then play Crysis 2. Simple.

I so agree,

The movie does look compelling, and if it has some similiar lines then yea, gd exposure, so many ways to have an invasion from space, i mean way back a gd few years, no matter what you do there will be some things that look as if they came from another movie/game.

War of the worlds, the old one that is, had large aliens, and some small one, not the same as Crysis by any measure, but its been done since in some way or another,

Look at all the different Star treks, each was using similiar story lines to the origional, just with better graphics and a slight remodel of each episode from a previouse captains ventures, lol.

You can only cut a story so many ways, and woosh its drained, so the move to New York, is a gd one, a great twist from the vegitation to harsh stone, and more new twists and turns to the plot, its all gd to me, I am still running other games just now to fill in the time, :-]

Not a very good movie, though I think with a bigger budget it could have been excellent :)
