Skyrim - Abeautiful piece of art

Post » Thu May 10, 2012 4:14 pm

I'm no fan boy at all, I hate steam like a plague, I cannot stand this crappy console UI that reacts randomly to what I do with the mouse and yes some textures are soso and there are still a bunch of bugs. And yeah, console ports are a shame and should be punished by with whiplashes. But still this game rocks and the current flaws will get modded away for sure. I'm an advanced 3d modeler myself and I can aestimate how much work has gone into this, respect. Will be loads of fun to mod this game! ;)

In all seriousness, Skyrim is one of the most beautiful games I've ever played. Not sure whether it or Crysis 2 wins.

Probably Crysis for overall detail. But in terms of scale and majesty, definitely Skryim.

I think that in terms of sheer scope, Skyrim is incredible. It may not be the most graphically intense game or have the greatest ai or animations in the world, but they have created a beautiful and massive world that is most importantly, believable. Not to mention the art style is excellent.

I have to agree.
Art is simply amazing compared to Oblivion, major step forward.
Keep it up!

Agreed. The lighting and everything else is just amazing. I've seen games that had more detailed art and models, but never another game as beautiful, if that makes sense.

One of the screenshots I just took this evening -> http://img716.imageshack.us/img716/5167/whiterun.jpg. There are views that look like a postcard behind every door and around every corner.

yeah art and weather is awesome. nothing like roaming a mountain forests in a rainstorm. breathtaking. just wish it was a bit more optimized for pc i guess. the performance per video card should be ALOT higher. for the few extra things we get over console the fps drops in cities don't make any sense at all. im sure drivers and optimization techniques by modders will help out alot. they also really need to fix dynamic shadows.
