The Legend of Red Eagle

Latest read was Japhet's Journal. I find myself reading all the journals I come across, but none of the books for some reason. Although I do collect most I come across (on ps3, wish there was a checklist feature so I know which books I already have. Maybe included with one of the houses which has a lot of bookshelves, although most would consider that a waste of development time.)

Those books were already in Morrowind and Oblivion. So we read them long time ago.

Currently reading The Real Barenziah (finished third book), my next read will probably be the Wolf Queen series. Anyone know the location of the first volume? I unlocked the whole Arcaneum via console (one bookshelf by one...) but I only found many copies of books 2-5.

Hey could you put this link in your original post? It's a complete listing of all the literature that exists in Daggerfall, Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim. It's a really good link because it also organizes the books by category eg mysticism, factions etc. I find it particularly useful when trying to sort out TES fact (i.e. history/lore) from the fiction

http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Lore:Books_by_Subject

Real handy for piecing together the big picture in the TES universe since the events in Daggerfall. I must admit I'm a cyber hoarder---I'm obssessed with collecting all the weapons, armor, gems, clothes, houses, housecarls, Thane titles, special followers like Cierco and Meeko, and of course books, in-game books

Best book read to date: Chaurus Pie: A Recipie. This is one of the rarest books in the game. And the only copy in Skyrim decided to liberate itself of its former squalor in Markath for my affluently furnished study in Proudspire.

Has anyone read 'a surfeit of thieves' It's a good one.
I saw the twist coming but that made it all the sweeter. You could say the main character got her just dessert in the end...

The Wolf Queen Series was good. I've never seen vol. 1 though. (vols. 2-8)

I believe I found The Wolf Queen Vol 1 in the dungeon inside either Falkreath Barracks or Dawnstar Barracks.
The book is in a cell with a guard nearby.

I forgot what it was called, but its sitting on the shelf in my house. It's split into two books, one is about the guard and the scary stuff in the forest, and the other is a pre-louge to it. But other than that I like a Rude Song. That's about all the books I've read.

I generally collect the mini series of books like the Wolf Queen series and Barenziah's Real Biography. However the other day Idolaf Battle-Born in Whiterun just walked up to me and gave me a book. Honestly after 300+ hours of playing multiple characters this has never happened to me before. The book he gave me was Kolb & the Dragon. I started reading it and I was floored that it was written like one of those old chose your own adventure books. I used to read those back in high school, like 30 some years ago. I spent the next 20 minutes reading through the book and picking all the paths. I finally added the book to my collection in my Whiterun home. What a neat little gem to find and what an unusual way to get it. :D

Agreed. Kolb & the Dragon is one of the best books in the game :) Interesting. Did you do a favor or side quest for him first though? Or was it completely random like that?

I particularly like the Wolf Queen biography. You get the chance to catch up with the back story on Queen Potema before meeting her again in the Wolf Queen Awakened quest.

That's what surprised me really. As far as I know he doesn't even have a personal quest, nor his dad. I hadn't joined the Empire or Stormcloaks yet either, so I have no idea what prompted it. I had been doing a lot of quests for the Jarl just to make money and find new areas so that might have prompted it.

I love the Wolf Queen books, but I was really wanting a lot more in the Awakening quest, something to tie the books and quest together more. But nothing like that happens.

I will also admit I generally keep a copy of the Lusty on my night stand next to the bed. For some reason it just seems like it belongs there ... right next to my sweet roll.

I remember that but, stupidly, didn't see the twist, but the ending produced a strange laugh from me.

Now, after a life of adventure it's time to settle down with a good book.

I thought I was the only one that did this! I have dropped enchanted weapons to lighten my load (did not have a pack mule with me..ha), but never a book!
