Hello. I'm new to Skyrim, not new to Elderscrolls. I've been playing the Elderscrolls games since Morrowind. Hundreds of hours of logged in on it. And then once I found out about TES, I started playing the other older games. And I plan on playing TES Online in the future.


I don't have much money. And I'm currently not gainfully employed. So I don't really have a whole lot of money to spend on a PC.

I was wondering if my modest build could handle Skyrim, and what performance I could get from it.

I checked the list of cards that will run, and mine falls under Medium-High (The GeForce GT 640)

But I'm using an Intel Core 2 Duo e6420 (2.13 GHz stock, but I might over clock to 2.4 Ghz ) Is this processor sufficient to run Skyrim on at least medium settings? I'll be playing on an older CRT Monitor. So I won't even have the option of going to 1080p. The max resolution I would see is 1280x1024 (However that's still considered HD.)

It has PC-2 5300 DDR2 RAM (667 Mhz)

My rig currently has 2 GBs, but I'm getting another two for a total of four. (Because I have to run Windows XP Pro SP3 as I do not own a copy of windows 7.)

I was just wondering what kind of performance I could expect with this rig. Hard Drive shouldn't matter, but it's a 3 GB/s SATA 7200 RPM.

I read the pinned thread. But it hasn't been posted on in over a year. It also didn't answer my questions.
