Skyrim Crashes to Desktop : V

Skyrim right now is crashing to my desktop every time I try to enter an exterior cell. Meaning leaving Whiterun right now lol. Kind of impossible to play the game without entering the exterior cell, so if anyone has a fix for this I would appreciate it

You need to get this moved to the PC tech forum where someone can help you.

(Pro tip tho': no one will unless you give more info, e.g. mods, dxdiag, specs, exact details).

Happened to me once in a specific case ( Solitude gate ) , I reinstalled and that was fixed ( it was annoying to reinstall however )

Huh, restarting my computer fixed it. Random lol. Thanks for the help anyways guys

If you installed the graphics "upgrade" for high res from Steam, it can cause crashes like that. I had to uninstall it because of crashing.

Any mod that claims to reduce likeliness of CTDs usually don't. They may make performance better in some cases... I used an underwear mod once that made the loincloth a speedo just because it said it would make the game run better. It didn't...

All I got to say is, see what mods you have installed. I can't use some for one reason or another, especially Garret's Retreat... Sadly. That mod makes my game crash. Not sure why.
