Skyrim in CrossFire?

Hello players!

I've played Skyrim now for about roughly 5 hours and so far its great!

I have 2x ATI 6970's to one screen and run 1900x1200 as resolution.
I've set the game settings to as follows:

Antialiasing to to 8 (Max)
Anisotropic Filtering: 8 (16 Max)
And everything rest you can adjust is set to ultra, those that cannot be set to ultra is then set to high.

Now here's the issue, when I start the game I get FPS at roughly 40 when looking towards sky, 35 when looking around horizon and towards sky and horribly 15-20 when looking and moving forward (includes looking around 360)
So I ask you techical dudes out there, why do I get this horrible FPS when I have 2x GPU's?

As for the rest of my PC I run:

MS Windows 7 64bit
16 GB Ram
i7 2600K 3.4Ghz

Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!
