Skyrim "Diverse Voice Actors"

Post » Sat Jun 16, 2012 10:39 am

That is so dumb, why on earth do they have one actor playing 62 different Nord males, and then another guy who is only playing 1 (Torsten Cruel-Sea doesn't even have very many lines). The least they could have done was split the lines between the different actors. As it stands right now, the repetition of the same voice on different characters is almost as unbearable as Oblivion, and sometimes even worse, as some of the VA in Skyrim can't seem to deliver their lines properly.

*cough* Farengar *Cough*

As I said: poor management, NOT a lack of resources. :P

The only one that really bugs me is the one who voices Belethor. There are TOO many NPC's with that voice, and when he tries to change it, it's awful. I guess I just don't like his voice.... :yuck:

I agree, they need more voice actors.

The one I find most annoying does Dunmer women, but I think that's partly because she sounds, to me, as though she's trying to speak with an English accent rather like my own (though strangely not like that of Dunmer men). I wonder how Scandinavians react to the game

They have 1 voice actor for each beast race, and their genders. And why does Michael Gough voice like 30 nords while Thor Edgell voices 1? :\

I don't really mind. It's definitely an improvement on Oblivion, plus, the voice acting is still brilliant.

Honestly I'm not too whiny about hearing repeative voices in Skyrim simply because I played Oblivion and that never bothered me and two because there is more diversity then Oblivion, even if those unique voices don't get a whole lot of dialogue. Just accept it and move on. I'm sure the Elder Scrolls VI will have more voice actors will more diversity...............maybe. Lol

He always sounds like he's hitting on my characters. "Do come back." I feel like I'm being propositioned. It's uncomfortable. He sounds unbelievably sleazy -- I've heard the voice with other npcs, but somehow he sounds like a creeper.

That said, I liked the distinctive accents this time around. It did help break up the similar voices for me.

It's a pity that there aren't more, I agree. Not as bad as Oblivion. But I swear, if one more guard says anything about a sweetroll in that stupid tone...

You know, "be grateful and stop complaining" is not the best possible response to comments about products that people are paying for. :$ There's room for recognition of improvement, but that doesn't negate the fact that I hear Alvor everywhere I go, and he has severe Dissociative Identity Disorder.

This.

The problem in Skyrim isn't nearly as big as it was in Oblivion, but it's hard not to notice a lot of people sounding the same. I think the reason why the whole Khajiit race sounds the same is because there are only like 10 of them in the game. xD

I don't mind the repetition but improvement would be nice. The one thing that does bother me is the fact they use the same people on certain personalities. As soon as you hear their voice you can tell how they will act which kind of ruins any surprise in their actions.
