Skyrim DLC Dragonborn timed exclusive?

Post » Sat Oct 20, 2012 1:29 am

A lot of websites keep saying that it could be a ps3 timed exlusive. if it is true, it would probably annoy me but i understand that ps3 have got nothing so far. But i think its still kind of unfair to consider timed exlusive for ps3 when sony didnt pay for a timed exclusive.

Where did you hear that?

Doesn't seem likely unless Sony forked over the money or Bethesda was being really generous about it.

It's also unfair I haven't gotten Dawnguard or Heartfire for PS3. Don't talk to me about fair.

If you google over "skyrim dragonborn dlc" a couple of sites will show up, reporting the PS3 timed exclusive. But I can't really say whether they should be taken as reliable sources or not.

You may find this is Bethesda grovelling to it's PS3 market, as they have [censored] you guys over with dawnguard and apparantly Hearthfire was bugged to hell aswell. This may be a bit of a peace offering. I'm good with it, so long as they don't make the same mistake they made with Dawnguard (releasing it too soon before they fix the bugs)

It makes no sense to delay the release for pc and xbox just because the PS3 didn't get yet their other dlcs ...

what would make more sense is to instead give PS3 players free one of the dlcs like dawnguard or hearhtfire to please their delayed and severall suffered issues ...

Pure speculation. The newest DLC has yet to be announced to anyone (everyone is currently only looking at what was found in the game files) and I find it hard to believe that Dragonborn could come before both DG and HF to PS3 as it seems to be larger than both of them.

Also, there is no point in making it a time exclusive. X360 exclusive was a deal with MS which gave Beth great deals of money that can be spent on all platforms. There is nothing positive to be gained with a PS3 exclusive.

My thoughts exactly.

Possible reality check:
If the rumor is coming off the one line of 1.8 beta patch code that says,
$DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT_PS3 DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT

AFAIK "spoiler" lines were revealed by doing a diff between skyrim instances with and without the new patch. So, lines like

$DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT_XBOX DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT
$DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT_PC DOWNLOADABLE CONTENT

may well exist in both instances (which would probably be the case with patch 1.7 already installed) and would not turn up in a diff anolysis.

So, the big news could be just that PS3 gets the DLC along with everybody else, instead of being delayed like the others (which is great news).

Exclusives are stupid (and Beth knew that). The main reason they release Hearthfire is to end the contract with Microsoft so they can released DLCs on all system.

And why would it be PS3 exclusive? To compensate for what actually is Sony's fault; which would allow PS3 users, for some reason, to bask it in with contempt while 360 and PC Users wait for the DLC?

Now, I'm pretty sure PS3 users don't hate us Xbox and PC users THAT much... Do they?

Unless Sony forked over money to beth, I highly doubt it, and I hope the rumor isn't true. We don't need anymore exclusive crap.
