Skyrim doesn't "feel" like I expected it too - but i

Picked up the game at the midnight launch, for the X-Box 360. Had a blast at the midnight release, people were saying it was one of the biggest turnouts they had ever seen for a midnight launch. :celebration: :celebration: :celebration:

So I had been debating forever if I wanted to play a Breton or a Wood Elf. I created the Wood Elf, and as soon as I got into the game, it just didn't feel right. So I restarted, with a Breton, and I'm enjoying it. I really enjoy having the Summon Familiar spell off the bat.

The way the game plays... it has a different feel to it than I was expecting. I can't really put my finger on it. But I'm loving it.

People have been complaining about Dual Wielding forever... OMG I couldn't be happier with the dual wielding. Yeah, I can't block. Okay. Big deal. I'm too busy carving my enemies up into chunks to worry about blocking.

Dual Wield casting is o... m... g... when my stamina runs low, I put my 2 swords away and pull out a couple destruction spells and just pwn face.

After only about 3 hours of playing, I'm in no position to rate it against Morrowind and Oblivion yet, but early returns are looking quite good.

If I had to put my finger on it, I think it's just that I can tell the game is built on a new engine from Oblivion.

But I certainly wouldn't call it a disappointment.

I'm a bit disappointed of the atmosphere. I'm missing music in the background, it just feels too empty behind there. The rest is fine, except of some bugs (character still speaking although already cancelled the dispute) or the weird Interface with the stupid favorite buttons ;)

I do like the favorites, although I do agree its kinda awkward also to have to pause the game everytime I wanna swap equipment.

The atmosphere... I might agree with you. The first few hours that I did felt very story centric and not quite as open world. But I've only played a couple hours so I cant quite make an accurate judgment yet.

Graphics and animations feel different than I imagined. Not necessarily bad. But playing the game doesn't feel the same as watching the demos.
